Show HN: Umbra, port of an unfinished free Lovecraftian CRPG from 2001
Glider 4.0, Calhoun's 1991 Mac game, now runs in the browser. Opus 5.5 ported the Pascal source to TypeScript. The test did the work: the original on a headless Mini vMac replays scripted inputs, and the port must match every pixel and sound. dbohdan/glider
Thank you. That's an interesting fork. If it runs SimCity 2000 already, you could set up a page that lets one try it (with user-supplied game files). You can do the same thing as my project: switch GitHub Pages for the repository to GitHub Actions mode and create a workflow for Pages (github.com/dbohdan/glider/blob/b4d14cfd52873c0378…). I didn't know about Systemless. I know Classic Mac fans to share it with.
Show HN: Glider 4.0 Unofficial Web Edition (Mac game port) dbohdan/glider
I'm really glad to hear this. The idea is to have the port pixel- and clock-perfect. The project has used an "oracle" to achieve this: testing against emulated Glider 4.0 on the same inputs: dbohdan/glider.
Looks very nice, should add it to the list of classless CSS themes here. dbohdan/classless-css
Absolutely. Windows, macOS, and major FLOSS desktop environments support it. Nemo (Cinnamon) and Dolphin (KDE) open WebDAV URLs as directories. Total Commander for Android has a WebDAV plugin. You can set up a server easily with Apache, including an FTP-style inbox. Here is my config: dbohdan/apache-2.4-webdav. I don't recommend nginx for WebDAV. My main HTTP server, Caddy, has gained WebDAV support since I published this configuration, but I haven't used it in anger.
