Cardano Foundation joins CMTA, the Swiss association setting standards for tokenized capital markets The Cardano Foundation is now a member of CMTA (Capital Markets and Technology Association), the Swiss association that sets standards for tokenized capital markets. CMTA recently recognized CIP-0113, Cardano’s programmable token standard, as equivalent to the CMTAT, its framework for tokenizing securities. In practice, issuers can now use CIP-0113 to tokenize shares that can be certified under CMTA’s Tokenized Shares certification scheme. For more, read the CMTA announcement, review the smart contract code, or see the certification details.

Cardano's Programmable Token Standard CIP-0113 Goes Live on Mainnet preview.redd.it CIP-0113 is live on mainnet. Issuers of stablecoins, tokenized funds and other regulated assets can now build compliance rules straight into Cardano native tokens, and the ledger enforces those rules on every transfer, mint and burn. Tokens issued under the programmable token standard remain native Cardano assets. Built on Cardano’s extended UTXO (EUTXO) ledger model, the standard attaches compliance logic to the token itself, ensuring it remains on Cardano. Once integrated, wallets, explorers and applications handle these tokens like any other Cardano asset, and execution costs stay predictable regardless of how many inputs a transaction contains. The standard required no hard fork. Issuers select modular rule sets, known as modules, or write their own, and can update them as regulation evolves without changing the core standard. Phil di Sarro at Midgard Labs designed the original protocol. The Foundation worked on the Aiken implementation with community experts, and it went through multiple independent security audits before mainnet. Read the full announcement: cardanofoundation.org
