Show HN: Connect Ring doorbell to Home app I have had Ring doorbell (Gen 1) for over 8 years. While it functions well, I have always struggled with 0 visibility into how it operates. And it does not gel well with the deep Apple ecosystem at my place (Leviton HomeKit switches, smart lock etc). Now that it is becoming increasingly easy to exploit vulnerabilities, have been spending weekends trying to consolidate as many accessories into 1 ecosystem and draw boundaries for internet access. This may be in vain but it definitely is a fun learning exercise. This weekend was for getting Ring doorbell added to Apple Home app and use Apple Secure HomeKit video in parallel to Ring. This allowed me to sever Ring subscription altogether (which has been increasing and as storage gets more expensive, may possibly continue to).
