[ethresear.ch] [zk-s[nt]arks] Vocdoni Protocol: Enabling Decentralized Voting for the Masses with ZK Technology p4u October 27 Hey, currently yes, DAVINCI only supports ECDSA signature check as authentication for voters. But adding more methods is trivial. A commitment (such as Hash) would also work. So leaves on the Census Merkle Tree would be, instead of ECDSA addresses, commitments. You can send a PR to our new Zisk based implementation at GitHub - vocdoni/davinci-zkvm: DAVINCI protocol ZISK/zkVM circuit implementation · GitHub Visit Topic to respond. I agree that convincing the public is a separate issue. But on a technical level, these problems are solved. See e.g. this modern implementation: vocdoni/davinci-paper This is a pretty recent one, but the mathematical foundation dates back to the late 80s. There have also been earlier implementations like this one: benadida/helios (corresponding paper usenix.org), although it still lacked coercion resistance. But it already uses zero knowledge proofs, which is at the core of anonymous yet verifiable systems.
