Happy Engineering (open source, MIT, 24k stars). Orchestrate Claude, Codex, Grok and Gemini agents, locally or on a team server
One of the maintainers here. The video is a real run of Happy, not a mockup:
- It opens on the model picker. Claude, Codex, Grok and Gemini sit side by side, and you pick whichever fits the task.
- Every new task starts as a blank stem cell. Just say what you want done; it names itself, grows an icon, and the sidebar self-organizes.
- The agent pulls Steve, our designer, into the chat. He replies from his phone, and the agent fixes it and ships.
- Finished work archives itself.
Under the hood it's a harness that runs the agents on your own machine, or on a server you deploy for your team. It uses the Claude, Codex and Grok subscriptions you already pay for. The phone app is end-to-end encrypted.
The project started out as a phone remote for Claude Code, but we have shipped desktop and stem cells recently. Stem cells are still experimental and need to be enabled in settings.
Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android. MIT.
Try it, roast it. Tell us what's broken. Have fun coding :D

Happy GitHub Explained: Encrypted Mobile Oversight for Local Coding Agents
happy by slopus: slopus/happy
This overview explains how Happy connects locally running coding agents with mobile oversight through structured, encrypted session state. It covers why raw SSH and terminal multiplexers are awkward for approval-driven agent workflows, how the repository separates the CLI, mobile client, relay server, Happy Desktop, and Happy Agent, and how QR pairing derives shared keys for a workstation-to-phone session.
The walkthrough follows a pending database command from protocol-level interception through JSON RPC packaging, WebSocket relay, local decryption, push notification, and remote authorization. It also describes operating conditions and trade-offs involving host sleep, provider dependencies, and optional voice integrations, where audio follows a different data path from the encrypted text session.
TimeStamps:
0:00 Autonomous agents and the supervision bottleneck
0:35 Approval boundaries in local coding workflows
1:14 Mobile SSH and terminal-stream trade-offs
2:07 Happy's repository architecture
2:45 QR pairing for remote oversight
3:22 Intercepting tool calls before execution
3:51 Structuring a pending command as JSON
4:20 Encrypted relay and mobile approval
4:48 Conditions for continuous operation
5:22 Voice integrations and data-path trade-offs
5:57 Structured state versus raw terminal text
6:33 Decoupling oversight from the keyboard
🤖 Local agents work within explicit approval boundaries
🔐 Shared keys protect structured session state across the relay
📱 Mobile approvals turn a pending tool call into a native workflow
🧩 Host power, dependencies, and voice paths shape the architecture
Happy frames remote agent supervision as a systems design problem: structured JSON state, encrypted transport, QR pairing, and mobile authorization each address a different part of the workflow. The main takeaway is how local execution can remain tied to a workstation while oversight moves to a phone, subject to the stated operating conditions.

Happy: Orchestrate Claude, Codex and Grok in one app (24k stars)
What it does
All text below is quoted directly from the project README.
>Orchestrate Claude, Codex and Grok in one app. Open-source (MIT), reuses the subscriptions you already pay for.
What you get:
- Multi-provider. Astra, Fable, and Grok in one app, each with its vendor's own prompts and tools. Give every task the model that fits, and delegate to subagents on any of them.
- Reuse your subscriptions. Sign in with the Claude, Codex, and Grok subscriptions you already pay for. Happy adds a harness, not another bill.
- Open source MIT. It runs on your own hardware and your projects stay ordinary folders. Read the code, fork it, ship your own build.
- End-to-end encrypted mobile app. Left your desk? The same sessions are already on your phone, and what moves between your devices is encrypted.
- Natively multiplayer. Invite a colleague or a friend into the session. You both watch the same agent work, and either of you can steer it.
>npm install -g happy
