🔎 FOSS Highlight: SearXNG
Search without handing one provider your whole history. SearXNG pulls results from multiple search services, doesn’t profile you, and you can host your own instance.

I took this a bit further and started self-hosting a data aggregator that strips metadata and such from search engines for more privacy. It's not for everybody, I admit, but it is cool. Warning: if you haven't ever self hosted, this will send you down a rabbit hole lol. searxng/searxng

@lasse_ai @MiaAI_lab Very nice! Similar setup on my end.
One of the must have for me was SearNXG.

Additionally I am running LibreChat to interface with various MCP connections to my agents.

For OpenWebUI and also OMP with local models. Searxng is, uh, playing fast and loose[1]. More engines are implementing anubis or other challenges, which searxng attempts to implement/bypass, but they are also making these services inactive by default to limit load[2].
Once this cat-and-mouse game goes on a bit longer I expect the quality of free searxng results to crater. My advice to anyone who has any budget at all is to skip over this whole issue and spend a few bucks on a proper search API.

Want web search with less tracking?
SearXNG combines results from multiple search engines without profiling its users.
Try a public instance or self-host one for more control over your search experience.
