[OS] Audio Priority Bar: rank your headphones, speakers and mics once, and your Mac always uses the best one connected
Problem: macOS uses whatever audio device connected last, so a dock, a monitor or AirPods keep taking your sound and your mic.
What it does
Rank your headphones, speakers and microphones once. Audio Priority Bar always uses the best one that's connected, and switches back when macOS or AirPods change it on their own.
- Profiles for each setup, switched from the panel, a shortcut or a Focus
- Global mic mute with ⌥⇧M in any app, plus a reminder if an app records while you're muted
- Monitors can't take your sound: new HDMI and DisplayPort outputs start hidden
- Jabra on a Link dongle: it knows when the headset is off, and noise cancellation, sidetone and busylight sit right on its row
Comparison
SoundSource (paid) and FineTune (free, macOS 15+) are the ones for per-app volume, EQ and routing, and FineTune has a device priority order too. Audio Priority Bar only picks devices and goes further there: a list for each kind of device, profiles, a global mic mute and the Jabra support. It never processes the audio, and it runs on macOS 14.
Pricing
Free and open source (GPL-3.0). No account, no telemetry.
- GitHub: camguillory/Audio-Priority-Bar
- Homebrew: brew install --cask camguillory/tap/audio-priority-bar

😤 开视频会议,别的 App 声音一起盖过来。FineTune 9 千星,Mac 上分应用调音量:每个软件一个音量条,浏览器会议音乐各调各的,还能把声音单独送到某个耳机,菜单栏点开就用。 ronitsingh10/FineTune
