more here lucasgelfond/biscotti + much owed to @asciidiego for hints about Instinct arch / building personal agents
Biscotti is a self-hosted, Instinct-like iMessage agent that can do computer use through Firecracker VMs I've been playing with instinct.com a bunch and loving the service, but got really spooked about privacy / perms stuff. A lot of existing off-the-shelf stuff (Firecracker VMs, Pi harness, etc) has gotten really good so I wondered how difficult it would be to setup my own. Turns out, not too difficult. Right now I'm running on a cloud model but it should be deployable anywhere / including with self hosted models too Admittedly a fair amount of AI use here but I spent a bunch of time reasoning through the architecture and coming to something that had the capabilities I needed while being a pretty minimal API surface. Here's general architecture: preview.redd.it Link is here lucasgelfond/biscotti if people want to try!
