Halo UI – a new visual UI layer for Home Assistant dashboards [HACS] Hi everyone 👋 I’ve been working on a project called Halo UI for Home Assistant and I’m finally at the point where I’d love to get some real-world feedback. Halo UI is a visual layer for existing Home Assistant dashboards. It does not replace your normal cards — it adds things around them and can restyle them. Current features include: - configurable sidebar with clock, date, weather, navigation and presence - responsive header with title, weather, clock and navigation - animated gradient backgrounds - image and video backgrounds - weather-aware video backgrounds - multi-stop Gradient Designer - linear, radial and conic animated gradients - glass surface styling for normal HA cards - state-aware colors for lights, switches, media players, climate, vacuums, etc. - desktop / tablet / mobile behavior - visual configuration UI - configuration export/import and diagnostics - German UI with English fallback It’s already installable through HACS as a custom repository: GitHub: F250SC/halo-ui HACS custom repository: F250SC/halo-ui Choose Dashboard as the repository type. Current release: v0.10.44 The project has passed the HACS validation checks and is currently waiting in the official HACS review queue: default#11706 I’m especially interested in feedback about: - compatibility with different custom cards - tablet/mobile layouts - performance - visual presets - bugs or weird behavior on dashboards different from mine It’s still actively being developed, so ideas and criticism are absolutely welcome.
