I built a free, open-source app to pray the Breviary on the go, and preserve Catholic heritage along the way I do my best effort to pray the Traditional Roman Breviary on a daily basis (the diurnale), so I built the app to be a friendly alternative to Divinum Officium on the go. It is available on the Play Store, and for iPhones through TestFlight (still waiting on App Review sadly). You can also pray the office (and other prayers) through the web: ember.dpgu.me The app lets you configure your plan of life and keep track of it, and I have been building it to be have everything I need and use in one place, so it has: - Liturgy (Divine Office, Mass) both Novus Ordo and Vetus Ordo (all options in DO) - Mass times and Churches near you. - The Bible - The Rosary, novenas, and all the expected prayers (400+ prayers in the catalog) - Gregorian Chant sheets - And more! The app also hosts 700+ Catholic books ranging from the Church Fathers, Bible Commentaries, and writings from great saints (such as St Thomas). I have been using OCR+AI to transcribe and translate books that today are only available as book scans on Internet Archive. My favorite, that I read every day is Divine Intimacy from Fr. Gabriel: transcribed the original Italian and translated to English and Brazilian Portuguese. Lately I have been working through transcribing the works of Bl Denis the Carthusian Opera Omnia. I have also been contributing back to Divinum Officium helping it translate the office to Portuguese and fixing errors I find along the way: github.com/DivinumOfficium/divinum-officium/pulls All my work is released for free, no ads, open-source and dedicated to the public domain: gustavo-depaula/ember If you have any questions, suggestions, ideas or complaints, they are very welcome! For those super interested, send me a DM to participate in my WhatsApp community for feedback and announcements. Anyhow! Hope you enjoy it! ---- For fun, here's my average time for each hour: - Lauds: ~16min - Prime: ~11min - Terce/Sext/None: ~7min - Vespers: ~14min - Compline (with examination of conscience): 10min
