Klay - How to use it as a Emulator Front-End Klay is a program that allows the user to organize their installed games in one place. It can also be used like a Retro Front-End to add emulated content into them. All you need is your emulators setup in advance and knowledge of how file directories work. Klay Downloads Linux Flatpak ------------------------------------------------------------------- Adding a Games into Klay 🟣 On the top left there is large + button, to add titles to it you use "Import" or "Add Game". For emulators press "Add Game". 🟣 After clicking "Add Game" you need to name it and fill in it's data, press "Add" when done. Name: Game Name Here Executable: Placeholder Cover: Load Artwork Here 🟣 Klay needs artwork manually added to it, if you already made the entry without art, right click your game after downloading some artwork from SteamGridDB and browse for the cover. 🟣 To edit to your game entry you only need to right click it OR click the game to bring up the full details page and press edit. 🟣 Now it's time to fill out the executable information, you do this by loading the edit page and fill it out with one of the templates below, once done hit "OK". If all goes well your game should launch. 🟣 If you are sure your launch code is setup correctly and its not working, check your flatseal settings you may need to give your flatpak more permissions for the emulator. 🟣 Lastly. Klay allows you to organize your games right clicking an entry or clicking the game itself into whatever categories you like. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Executable Commands - Linux ------------------------------------------------------------------- Steam start steam://rungameid/StoreIDNumberHere Retroarch Flatpak flatpak run org.libretro.RetroArch --libretro "/home/usernamehere/.var/app/org.libretro.RetroArch/config/retroarch/cores/corename_libretro.so" "/gamefolder/gamename.fileextension" Retroarch Appimage /RetroarchInstallDirectory/programename --libretro /RetroarchInstallDirectory/RetroArchAppImageFolder/.config/retroarch/cores/corename_libretro.so "gamefolder/gamename.fileextension" Standalone Emulator Flatpak flatpak run FlatpakFolderName "gamefolder/gamename.fileextension" Standalone Executable Emulator /EmulatorInstallDirectory/programename "gamefolder/gamename.fileextension" Pico8 /Pico8InstallDirectory/pico8 -run "/Pico8GameDirectory/gamename.p8.png" Non-Heroic Games Press "Add Game" in Heroic Flatpak, when done adding the game press import in Cartridges. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Heroic Launcher Category ------------------------------------------------------------------- If you don't want to use the "Added" Category and would prefer your titles in Heroic you can also use that one by adding games into it's launcher. 1.
