GitLab Duo Agent Platform Demo: AI Agents for the Full DevSecOps Lifecycle MIB (Maintainer in a Box) wraps Staticman, an abandoned open-source Node project, in an automated DevSecOps lifecycle built with GitLab Duo Agent Platform. Humans file issues. Agents triage, write code, review, scan, deploy to staging, monitor, and draft release notes. This video shows the loop end to end, and where a human still steps in. Built for the GitLab Transcend hackathon (Path B, bring your own project). THE LEVEL: SUPERVISED Agents run multi-step work on their own. A human approves outcomes at six gates: start the Developer, mark the draft ready, merge, ask for a release, merge the notes, and promote to production. Some are platform limits and some are choices. The README says which. WHAT WE LEARNED THE HARD WAY - A rolled-back production deploy still published a release (issue #25), because of allow_failure on the deploy job. We found it with a failure test and fixed it with a proof-of-promotion marker. - Duo's code review caught stale claims in our own release notes, using custom review rules. - Auto-merge once beat Duo's review by 80 seconds. PIPELINE SUSTAINABILITY We cut four redundant jobs from an hourly scheduled pipeline: 263 to about 102 job-seconds per run, 61 percent, measured over 15 runs. We estimate the carbon with the Green Software Foundation's SCI formula, as a range, and the README lists what we could not measure.
