Made a free tool that fixes the “host loses their character when moving co-op to a dedicated server” problem (works with 1.0 / Oodle saves) My friends and I moved our co-op world to a dedicated server, and everyone came back fine except the host, who got dumped into character creation. Everything was gone: pals, inventory, guild. The old fix scripts I found didn’t work on the new 1.0 save format, so I built my own. What it does: Palworld saves the co-op host under a placeholder ID instead of their Steam ID. A dedicated server doesn’t recognize it, so it gives the host a fresh character. This tool moves the old character onto the new ID so the host gets everything back: pals, inventory, Dimensional Pal Storage, guild admin, and buildings. How it works: - Small Windows app, nothing to install, just run the .exe - Load your server’s world folder, pick your old character (marked CO-OP HOST) and the throwaway one you made on the server, then click Transfer - Makes a full .zip backup before changing anything - Works with current saves, including the Oodle-compressed format that breaks most older tools - Also handles the _dps.sav (Dimensional Pal Storage) file, which a lot of other fixes skip - Bonus: can copy your map exploration over from the co-op world The README has the full step-by-step guide plus an FAQ. GitHub: vanloads/palworld-host-save-fixer Credits: This wouldn’t have been possible without the community’s save-format research. Big thanks to: - cheahjs for palworld-save-tools, the groundwork for understanding how Palworld saves are structured - xNul for the original palworld-host-save-fix, which figured out the host ID problem in the first place
