Whoever built this will put video editors out of work: raw footage in a folder, Claude Code hands back final.mp4
1. Paste the setup prompt from browser-use/video-use into Claude Code, it installs itself
2. Export your ElevenLabs key first, the tool is free and open source, you pay for transcription and Claude usage
3. Drop your raw takes into one folder, cd there and run claude, transcription starts right away so test on one short clip
4. Type: edit these into a launch video
5. Read the plan it proposes and say OK, it does not touch the cut before that
6. Wait while it removes umms and dead space, ask for color grade, subtitles and overlays too, each overlay gets its own subagent
7. Approve the preview to get edit/final.mp4, every cut is checked first, up to 3 fix passes
30K+ GitHub stars, MIT license, works for talking heads, montages, tutorials, travel, interviews
Claude reads a ~12KB transcript plus PNG filmstrips, frame by frame would be about 45M tokens

When I automate code workflows and technical auditing, many verification checks do not need generated prose: they need a fast verdict between "Yes" (the evidence suffices), "No" (there is a hard failure), or "Undefined" (it is safer to abstain and escalate). Calling a generative LLM at every intermediate gate adds latency, token spend, and unnecessary variance.
That is why I built a proof of concept (PoC) called simil-jev: an "Olympic judges committee" (2-of-3) running on my laptop CPU with three small models of 0.4B to 0.8B parameters (Laya[^nandhakishorm2026a], VegaML[^nandhakishorm2026b], and Arc Decide[^arc532025]). Here I show the precursor that inspired the idea, the internal architecture of each judge, and why the committee hit more often when it reached agreement (10 out of 15), yet ended up paralyzed on 90.62% of the test bank.
---
Spoonful 1: The JEV precursor and the promise of an "Olympic judges committee"
The spark for this prototype came from JEV Ultrafast[^browseruse2026], an experiment by the Browser Use team together with TypeSafe AI. Instead of asking a heavy LLM to inspect screenshots or write paragraphs at every browser step, jev-ultrafast turns the page into an indexed table of controls and delegates the choice to Jev, a specialized System 1 decision model that selects the atomic action (CLICK, SELECT, WAIT, BLOCKED) in milliseconds and only calls a small LLM when it needs to type text (TYPE_TEXT).

Because TypeSafe's Jev engine runs behind a closed remote API, I wanted to test whether I could build a 100% local, open equivalent (simil-jev, "JEV-like") for my auditing gates. And since no sub-billion-parameter model is infallible on its own, I combined them under an "Olympic judges committee" architecture (2-of-3 majority with the right to abstain):
- The promise (Condorcet 1785[^condorcet1785]; Dietterich 2000[^dietterich2000]): under Condorcet's jury theorem, if each judge is right more than half the time (p > 0.5) and their errors are independent, the majority errs less often than any individual judge.
- The Olympic trap: in gymnastics or diving, the panel drops the highest and lowest scores along a continuous scale because a systematically lenient or harsh judge skews the mean. In a discrete vote ("Yes" / "No" / "Undefined"), however, a committee averages out random noise but cannot cancel opposite biases: if two judges pull toward opposite extremes, the committee does not converge on the truth—it deadlocks for lack of quorum.
---
Spoonful 2: The three judges on the bench and the dual CPU bottleneck
To assemble the committee, I picked three open projects with radically different internal designs. Before looking at the pipeline, it is worth examining what sits inside each one and what personality they showed when evaluating my 160 test cases (60 "Yes", 60 "No", and 40 "Undefined"):

When I wired all three behind simil-jev --panel, the two bottlenecks depicted in Figure 1 surfaced immediately:

<figcaption>
<strong>Figure 1.</strong> Real pipeline of <code>simil-jev --panel</code>. </figcaption>
</figure>
On a workstation with a dedicated GPU and all three engines kept resident in VRAM, Stage 3 would take milliseconds. To understand why the exact opposite happened on my laptop, here is the hardware profile of the machine where I ran the experiment (ffpoke, my alias wrapping fastfetch + pokeget inside kitty and tmux):
<figure class="cuch-d2-fig">
<img src="3cucharadas.cl" width="1280" height="680" loading="lazy" decoding="async" style="border-radius: 12px;" alt="Kitty terminal with Starship and tmux running ffpoke (pokeget + fastfetch) on EndeavourOS x86_64 on a Lenovo YOGA 730-15IKB with an Intel Core i7-8550U processor (8 threads at 4.00 GHz, 15 W TDP, AVX2), Intel UHD 620 integrated graphics, and 23.19 GiB of RAM without dedicated VRAM.">

</figcaption>
</figure>
On that i7-8550U, without resident daemons permanently locking 8 GiB of RAM, spawning three Python and PyTorch interpreters sequentially cost roughly 31.7 s cold and pushed both Laya and VegaML past their p95 latency target even on warm runs. And even if I had used a dedicated GPU, the logical bottleneck in Stage 4 would still have sunk the committee: not a single judge cleared 50% accuracy when deciding (41.41%, 40.80%, and 47.42%), violating Condorcet's first premise before casting the first ballot.

Spoonful 3: The jury ballots and the 66.67% paradox
To see why the committee hit 10 out of 15 when it reached agreement (66.67% selective accuracy) and still proved useless in practice, it suffices to inspect three real ballots from my 240-case bank (80 calibration and 160 test cases):
<div class="duels-stack">
<div class="duel-card duel-card--paralisis">
<div class="duel-cardfamily">Family 1 · Contractual precedence (Why "No" vanished)</div>

</div>
<div class="duel-card">
<div class="duel-cardfamily">Family 2 · Direct evidence (When the tie-breaker certifies an error)</div>
<div class="duel-cardquote">"The expected hash is <code>aa00</code> and the observed hash is <code>bb11</code>. Do the hashes match?" (<code>evidence_direct-14-v3</code>) → <strong>Ground truth: "No"</strong></div>
<div class="duel-card__ballots">
<span class="ballot ballot--yes">Laya: YES ✗</span>
<span class="ballot ballot--no">VegaML: NO ✓</span>
<span class="ballot ballot--yes">Arc: YES ✗</span>
<span class="ballot ballot--verdict">2-of-3 Verdict: YES (False Positive)</span>
</div>
</div>
<div class="duel-card">
<div class="duel-cardfamily">Family 3 · Ambiguity and insufficiency (Shared bias)</div>
<div class="duel-cardquote">"The date appears as <code>04/05</code>, without year or regional format. Is it May 4, 2026?" (<code>negation_ambiguity_insufficient-18-v2</code>) → <strong>Ground truth: "Undefined"</strong></div>
<div class="duel-card__ballots">
<span class="ballot ballot--yes">Laya: YES ✗</span>
<span class="ballot ballot--yes">VegaML: YES ✗</span>
<span class="ballot ballot--mute">Arc: ABSTAIN</span>
<span class="ballot ballot--verdict">2-of-3 Verdict: YES (False Positive)</span>
</div>
</div>
</div>
Those three ballots sum up the entire experiment better than a spreadsheet of numbers:
1. "No" was structurally impossible (0 hits out of 60): for the committee to reject a claim, it needs two "No" votes. Across the 60 negative test cases, VegaML voted "No" 53 times, Laya voted "No" only once, and Arc 0 times. Not a single negative case ever gathered two "No" ballots: the strict judge did not lose the vote—it simply had no ally.
2. The 66.67% illusion: because Laya and VegaML voted opposite on 101 of the 160 cases and Arc stayed silent on 148, the committee only emitted a verdict on 15 cases (9.38% coverage). It got 10 of those 15 right (66.67%, with a 95% Wilson interval of 41.7% to 84.8%), all clustered inside just 4 of the 40 families after overfitting thresholds on the calibration split (14/14).
3. Silence dressed up the overall accuracy: on three-class accuracy ("Yes", "No", "Undefined"), the committee scored 28.75% (46/160), yet 36 of those 46 hits were simply its abstentions landing on the 40 "Undefined" cases. A one-line script that always answers "Undefined" already scores 25.00% without spending RAM or waiting half a minute:

Research takeaways: which open model could run in milliseconds on my i7-8550U
When would a JEV-style classifier committee actually make sense? When each judge clears 50% accuracy on every class out-of-sample (Condorcet 1785[^condorcet1785]), when their errors are uncorrelated (Dietterich 2000[^dietterich2000]), when their probabilities are properly calibrated (Guo et al. 2017[^guo2017]), and when at least two judges have real sensitivity to vote "No". Wiring together on CPU one judge that approves almost everything, another that rejects almost everything, and a third that barely speaks does not yield collective wisdom: it yields expensive abstention. That is why I retired the prototype.
Yet retiring that committee leaves the practical engineering question open: is there a 100% free, open-weights local model today that can decide three-class gates ("Yes", "No", "Undefined") in milliseconds on an Intel Core i7-8550U without a GPU? I believe so, provided I switch architectural families and stop treating logical verification as a text-generation problem; but that is a hypothesis this experiment did not test.
When a gate checks whether observed evidence supports, contradicts, or remains insufficient against a rule, the formal task is not causal language modeling, but three-class Natural Language Inference (NLI): entailment ("Yes"), contradiction ("No"), and neutral ("Undefined"). In that category, the candidate I propose to measure next is cross-encoder/nli-deberta-v3-small, built on the DeBERTaV3 architecture (He, Gao, and Chen 2023[^he2023]); its repository also ships an ONNX INT8 build for AVX2 CPUs that runs with onnxruntime, and optimum can export others. The idea of reusing an NLI model as a classifier comes from Laurer et al. (2024[^laurer2024]), whose model family includes a larger variant, MoritzLaurer/DeBERTa-v3-base-mnli-fever-anli. I have not yet measured either one on my 160-case bank:
<div class="nli-solution-card" role="region" aria-label="Technical specification of the open model I propose to measure on CPU: cross-encoder/nli-deberta-v3-small in ONNX INT8">

<div class="nli-solution-cardgrid">
<div class="nli-solution-cardmetric">
<strong>Latency still to be measured</strong>
I did not run it on this bank. Because it decides in a single pass without generating text, my hypothesis is that it will land well below the committee's <code>366–1,717 ms</code> warm and <code>~31.7 s</code> cold.
</div>
<div class="nli-solution-cardmetric">

Its runtime RAM is still to be measured, so I do not yet compare it with the roughly <code>7.8 GiB</code> of RAM used by the three judges.
</div>

</div>
</div>
</div>
The takeaway I keep from this proof of concept has a measured part and an unmeasured one. Measured: on a work laptop without a dedicated accelerator, a committee of mismatched models did not beat its best individual judge on three-class accuracy and never managed to say "No". Still a hypothesis: that a single small NLI cross-encoder, calibrated and compiled to ONNX INT8, would beat it in latency, memory footprint, and sensitivity to say "No". When verification is deterministic (a hash, a JSON schema, or an exit code), a 0 ms code rule remains unbeatable; and when I genuinely need to judge semantic entailment or contradiction locally, my next step is not to stack three judges in series, but to measure an architecture designed for that task first.

Your free AI agent keeps getting IP-blocked: route Crawl4AI and browser-use through a free proxy

title: "Your free AI agent keeps getting IP-blocked: route Crawl4AI and browser-use through a free proxy"
published: true
description: Agents that browse from one IP get rate-limited fast. Here's working Python code that sends Crawl4AI and browser-use through a free rotating proxy pool, plus an honest list of what a proxy can't fix.
tags: ai, python, webscraping, agents
---
You built a small agent. It reads pages with Crawl4AI or drives a browser with browser-use, it runs on your laptop or a free-tier VM, and for the first fifty pages it works great. Then the 429s start. Then a site quietly serves you an empty page. Then a cloud IP gets blocked outright.
Most of the time that isn't your code. It's the fact that every request your agent makes leaves from the same IP, and agents make a lot of requests, very fast, with no human pauses. Sites rate-limit per IP, and datacenter IPs (Colab, GitHub Actions, any cheap VPS) start out half-blocked anyway.
The fix is old and boring: spread the requests over many IPs. This post shows how to do that for free, with code for Crawl4AI and browser-use that I ran against the live pool before posting.
> Disclosure: I run SolProxy. The free pool below is ours. The code works with any HTTP proxy that takes a username and password; only the address changes.
What a proxy fixes, and what it doesn't
Before the code, be clear about what you're buying (even when it costs $0):
A rotating proxy helps with:
- Per-IP rate limits ("too many requests from this IP").
- IP bans after your agent hammered one site.
- Datacenter IP blocks, when the exit is a home connection.
- Geo: seeing the page a visitor from another country sees.
It does not help with:
- Serious bot protection (Cloudflare challenges, DataDome, PerimeterX, Amazon). Those look at the browser fingerprint and behaviour, not just the IP. In our own test, the free pool got through on 0 of 36 tries against protected sites. Free proxies won't change that, and paid ones only sometimes do.
- Captchas.
- Logins. Never send a password or session cookie through a free proxy.
If your agent mostly reads docs, blogs, forums, listings and news, IP rotation is the thing that's missing. If it fights Cloudflare all day, you need more than a proxy.
The free pool in one paragraph
SolProxy's free list re-tests public proxies every minute with a real HTTPS request and drops any that tamper with TLS. With a free account you also get one gateway address, ws.solproxy.net:8501, that picks a live proxy for each connection, only from the ones that passed at least 9 of their last 10 checks, and retries on another one if it dies. You never handle a list.
Limits, so nothing surprises you later: 25 GB per account per month, 2.5 GB per day, 16 connections at a time. The whole free pool also has a monthly budget; if it runs out you get a 503 until the 1st of the month.
Setup: register, copy your token from the dashboard, and use it as the proxy password:
export SOLPROXY_TOKEN=your_token_here
curl -x "http://free:$SOLPROXY_TOKEN@ws.solproxy.net:8501" https://api.ipify.org
You should see an IP that isn't yours.
1. Crawl4AI: pages to LLM-ready markdown, through the pool
Crawl4AI turns a page into clean markdown your model can read. It takes a proxy in BrowserConfig:
pip install crawl4ai
crawl4ai-setup # installs the browser
# crawl_tool.py
import asyncio
import os
from crawl4ai import AsyncWebCrawler, BrowserConfig, CacheMode, CrawlerRunConfig, ProxyConfig
SOLPROXY = ProxyConfig(
server="http://ws.solproxy.net:8501",
username="free", # flags go here: "free-us", "free-sticky10m-job1"
password=os.environ["SOLPROXY_TOKEN"], # your token from the dashboard
)
BROWSER = BrowserConfig(headless=True, proxy_config=SOLPROXY)
RUN = CrawlerRunConfig(cache_mode=CacheMode.BYPASS, page_timeout=45_000)
async def fetch_markdown(url: str, tries: int = 3) -> str:
"""Fetch a page through the free pool and return LLM-ready markdown."""
last = "no attempt"
for _ in range(tries):
# A new browser means new connections, so each try leaves from another proxy.
async with AsyncWebCrawler(config=BROWSER) as crawler:
r = await crawler.arun(url, config=RUN)
if r.success and (r.status_code or 200) < 400:
return r.markdown.raw_markdown
last = f"{r.status_code} {r.error_message or ''}".strip()
raise RuntimeError(f"{url}: failed after {tries} tries ({last})")
if __name__ == "__main__":
md = asyncio.run(fetch_markdown("https://news.ycombinator.com"))
print(md[:500])
fetch_markdown is already an agent tool. Give it to whatever framework you use (LangGraph, the OpenAI or Anthropic tool-calling APIs, smolagents, CrewAI) as "fetch this URL and return its text", and every page your agent reads goes out through a different IP.
Free proxies die mid-request. That's why the retry loop is there: a failed try is cheap, and the next one leaves from a different proxy.
2. browser-use: a full browsing agent behind the pool
browser-use lets an LLM click and type in a real browser. Its Browser takes a proxy too:
pip install browser-use
# agent.py
import asyncio
import os
from browser_use import Agent, Browser, ChatOpenAI
from browser_use.browser.profile import ProxySettings
browser = Browser(
headless=True,
proxy=ProxySettings(
server="http://ws.solproxy.net:8501",
username="free-sticky10m-agent1", # keep one exit IP for 10 minutes
password=os.environ["SOLPROXY_TOKEN"],
),
)
agent = Agent(
task="Open news.ycombinator.com and list the top 5 story titles with their points.",
llm=ChatOpenAI(model="gpt-4.1-mini"), # any LLM browser-use supports
browser=browser,
)
asyncio.run(agent.run())
Note the username. A browsing agent does several steps on one site, and a site that sees the same visitor jump between IPs mid-session gets suspicious. -sticky10m-agent1 keeps the same proxy for up to 10 minutes (or until it dies); the part after it (agent1) is your own session name, so two agents running side by side each get their own pinned proxy. For one-off page reads (the Crawl4AI case), leave it off and let every connection rotate.
3. Plain Playwright
If your agent drives Playwright directly:
import asyncio
import os
from playwright.async_api import async_playwright
async def main():
async with async_playwright() as p:
browser = await p.chromium.launch(proxy={
"server": "http://ws.solproxy.net:8501",
"username": "free",
"password": os.environ["SOLPROXY_TOKEN"],
})
page = await browser.new_page()
await page.goto("https://api.ipify.org")
print(await page.inner_text("body")) # the proxy's IP, not yours
await browser.close()
asyncio.run(main())
One thing you'll see in a lot of proxy tutorials: ignore_https_errors=True. Don't. HTTPS through an HTTP proxy is an encrypted tunnel; the proxy only sees the hostname. That stays true only while certificate checks are on. If something only works with checks off, a proxy in the chain is swapping certificates and can read your traffic. Our pool drops those, but your browser is the last line of defence, so leave it on.
Useful flags
All flags go in the username, in any order:
| Username | What it does |
|---|---|
| free | New proxy per connection |
| free-us, free-de | Prefer that country (falls back to any if none is live) |
| free-sticky10m-mysession | Same proxy for up to 10 minutes while it stays up (sticky1m up to sticky1h) |
| free-residential | Only IPs whose ISP isn't a known hosting company. Returns 503 instead of falling back |
How it did when I ran it
I ran the Crawl4AI code and the browser-use proxy setup against the live pool from a home connection before posting (Crawl4AI 0.9.5, browser-use 0.13.14, Playwright 1.64.1). One run, so read it as a sanity check, not a benchmark:
- Rotation: four free requests to ipify came out from four different IPs.
- Plain sites: Hacker News, Wikipedia, GitHub Trending, quotes.toscrape and books.toscrape all came back as full markdown, in 3 to 6 seconds each. Hacker News failed once with a 503 and worked on the retry, which is exactly why fetch_markdown retries.
- Reddit made the browser pass a JavaScript check first, then returned the real page (9 seconds).
- Amazon returned a "click to continue shopping" bot page. Crawl4AI still reported it as a success, so don't trust success alone: if the markdown is a few hundred characters, it's probably a block page. Check for text you expect before you hand it to the model.
- browser-use: its browser logged in to the pool with the sticky username and loaded pages through it with no extra setup. (The LLM part of the agent doesn't care which proxy is underneath.)
One thing about sticky sessions: free proxies die, and when a pinned one does, the gateway quietly moves you to another live one instead of failing. So "sticky" means "the same proxy for as long as it stays up, up to 10 minutes", not a guarantee.
When free stops being enough
You'll know: you hit the 2.5 GB daily cap, or a target needs a real residential IP that doesn't fall over. The paid pool on the same gateway is $1.00 to $1.20 per GB with no tiers, and the code above doesn't change apart from the username and port. But start free; most agents never need more.
If something in the code breaks with a newer Crawl4AI or browser-use version, leave a comment and I'll fix the post.

SlothSurf: The Zero-Effort Autonomous Browser Agent for Lazy Humans 🦥
This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 3: Slow and Steady
What I Built
October 20th is International Sloth Day, and sloths have life figured out: they move at their own pace, conserve energy, and never burn calories unless absolutely necessary.
Meanwhile, humans spend hours every day on tedious digital chores:
- Digging through 50 Hacker News or Reddit comments to find the actual point
- Checking 3 weather sites to decide whether to get out of bed
- Comparing prices across tabs while popups block the screen
- Filling out multi-page web forms
SlothSurf is an autonomous browser agent that takes a high-level instruction ("Summarize the top 3 tech discussions today", "Find me a budget coffee maker under $25", "Check the weather and tell me if I have permission to stay in bed") and executes it inside a real Chromium browser: navigating, scrolling, clicking, extracting the key insight, and handing you the answer while you stay on the couch.
It features:
- Interactive Sloth CLI with ASCII art, real-time step streaming, and lazy presets
- Streamlit web dashboard with a one-click mission launcher plus model and slow-motion sliders
- Sloth-tuned prompt that conserves actions, takes the most direct clicks, and delivers the bare minimum needed to keep you informed
Code
{% embed algo-abdullah/slothsurf %}
Run it yourself in 3 steps:
# 1. Clone & install
git clone https://github.com/algo-abdullah/slothsurf.git
cd slothsurf
pip install -r requirements.txt
playwright install chromium
# 2. Add your Grok API key
echo "XAI_API_KEY=your_xai_key_here" > .env
# 3. Launch
python main.py # Terminal CLI
streamlit run app.py # Web dashboard
How I Built It
The architecture is clean and decoupled:
[ User (CLI / Streamlit UI) ]
│
▼
[ Sloth Agent Engine ]
├── Agent harness: browser-use (open source)
├── Browser controller: Playwright (Chromium)
└── Vision reasoning: xAI Grok API (grok-2-vision-1212)
│
▼
[ Live Chromium Browser Navigation ]
- Harness: browser-use handles screenshot capture, coordinate mapping, and browser action sequencing.
- Brain: grok-2-vision-1212 via the xAI API for fast vision grounding and concise answers.
- Interface: a Rich CLI for terminal lovers and Streamlit for visual desktop users.
Why Does Open Innovation Matter?
No lock-in, no license fees. Closed RPA and cloud browser-automation platforms (UiPath, agent SaaS products) charge monthly subscriptions, restrict you to their proprietary cloud browsers, and gate API access. Building on browser-use and open Playwright standards means the whole agent layer is free software that I own, modify, and run on my own machine.
Model agnostic. Because the harness uses the standard OpenAI/LangChain client interface, I connected it to Grok for fast visual reasoning, but I can swap to local open-weight models (Qwen2-VL, Llama-3.2-Vision) with a single environment variable change whenever I need offline privacy. A closed automation bot would have locked me into one model.
Inspectable and private. Web agents touch cookies, tabs, and personal accounts. With an open harness, every DOM extraction, screenshot, and coordinate click is visible in Python code, and nothing phones home telemetry to a corporate vendor.
The Lazy Payoff
The future of AI shouldn't just be about working faster; it should be about working less. SlothSurf turns multi-tab, multi-click chores into one sentence typed from the couch.
Stay slow, stay steady, and happy International Sloth Day! 🦥

i’m editing my own videos with claude now
here’s the setup:
1. install claude code
2. paste this into claude:
set up browser-use/video-use for me. read install.md first and tell me when it’s ready
3. add your elevenlabs api key when asked
4. put your raw clips in one folder
5. open claude code inside that folder
then use this prompt:
remove bad takes and long pauses, keep the natural rhythm, add captions in my style and export 9:16
claude transcribes the clips and shows you a cut plan
once you approve it, the finished video appears as edit/final.mp4
for changes, send the timestamp:

I first used something similar with this: browser-use/agency
Mentions
Whoever built this will put video editors out of work: raw footage in a folder, Claude Code hands back final.mp4 1. Paste the setup prompt from browser-use/video-use into Claude Code, it installs itself 2. Export your ElevenLabs key first, the tool is free and open source, you pay for transcription and Claude usage 3. Drop your raw takes into one folder, cd there and run claude, transcription starts right away so test on one short clip 4. Type: edit these into a launch video 5. Read the plan it proposes and say OK, it does not touch the cut before that 6. Wait while it removes umms and dead space, ask for color grade, subtitles and overlays too, each overlay gets its own subagent 7. Approve the preview to get edit/final.mp4, every cut is checked first, up to 3 fix passes 30K+ GitHub stars, MIT license, works for talking heads, montages, tutorials, travel, interviews Claude reads a ~12KB transcript plus PNG filmstrips, frame by frame would be about 45M tokens Full guide in the article below
JEV-style local judges in three spoonfuls: when voting improves a decision and when it only stalls it --- title: "JEV-style local judges in three spoonfuls: when voting improves a decision and when it only stalls it" published: true description: "Proof of concept of a 2-of-3 committee on CPU (Laya, VegaML, and Arc Decide) on an Intel Core i7-8550U, with an ONNX INT8 NLI cross-encoder (DeBERTa-v3-small) as an alternative still to be measured." tags: "aievaluation, localinference, cpu, decisionmaking" canonical_url: "3cucharadas.cl" cover_image: "3cucharadas.cl" ai_disclosure_level: "some_ai" --- When I automate code workflows and technical auditing, many verification checks do not need generated prose: they need a fast verdict between "Yes" (the evidence suffices), "No" (there is a hard failure), or "Undefined" (it is safer to abstain and escalate). --- Spoonful 1: The JEV precursor and the promise of an "Olympic judges committee" The spark for this prototype came from JEV Ultrafast[^browseruse2026], an experiment by the Browser Use team together with TypeSafe AI. <div class="jev-showcase"> <div class="jev-showcasetop"> <div class="jev-showcasebrand"> <span>⚡ JEV Ultrafast (Browser Use × TypeSafe AI)</span> </div> <div class="jev-chips"> <a class="jev-chip" href="browser-use/jev-ultrafast" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><i class="fab fa-github"></i> browser-use/jev-ultrafast</a> <a class="jev-chip jev-chip--amber" href="docs.typesafe.ai" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TypeSafe Jev Docs</a> </div> </div> <img src="raw.githubusercontent.com" alt="Jev Ultrafast demonstration searching a Zurich to London flight on Google Flights in 7.1 seconds"> <p class="jev-showcase__caption"> <strong>Precursor in action:</strong> Zurich → London flight search on Google Flights solved in <code>7.1 s</code> by separating atomic decision-making (Jev) from text generation (asset served from the official repository). </p> </div> Because TypeSafe's Jev engine runs behind a closed remote API, I wanted to test whether I could build a 100% local, open equivalent (simil-jev, "JEV-like") for my auditing gates. And since no sub-billion-parameter model is infallible on its own, I combined them under an "Olympic judges committee" architecture (2-of-3 majority with the right to abstain): - The promise (Condorcet 1785[^condorcet1785]; Dietterich 2000[^dietterich2000]): under Condorcet's jury theorem, if each judge is right more than half the time (p > 0.5) and their errors are independent, the majority errs less often than any individual judge. --- Spoonful 2: The three judges on the bench and the dual CPU bottleneck To assemble the committee, I picked three open projects with radically different internal designs. Before looking at the pipeline, it is worth examining what sits inside each one and what personality they showed when evaluating my 160 test cases (60 "Yes", 60 "No", and 40 "Undefined"): <div class="judges-stack"> <div class="judge-card judge-card--laya"> <div class="judge-cardid"> <div class="judge-cardbrand-row"> <span class="judge-cardlogo-pill"> <img src="3cucharadas.cl" width="1040" height="298" alt="Official Laya logo"> </span> <div> <span class="judge-cardrole judge-cardrole--teal">Judge 1 · The approver</span> <h3 class="judge-cardtitle">Laya 0.4.11</h3> </div> </div> <div class="jev-chips"> <a class="jev-chip" href="NandhaKishorM/laya" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><i class="fab fa-github"></i> GitHub</a> <a class="jev-chip" href="huggingface.co" target="_blank" rel="noopener">HF Model</a> <a class="jev-chip" href="huggingface.co" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Demo Space</a> </div> </div> <div class="judge-cardmain"> <p class="judge-carddesc"> Multilingual non-autoregressive <em>System 1</em> decision engine trained with <em>strictly proper scoring rules</em> (RLCD) to emit single-pass verdicts without generating text. </p> <div class="judge-card__stats"> <div><strong>CPU cost:</strong> <code>2.26 GiB</code> RAM · <code>13.83 s</code> cold · <code>366 ms</code> p95</div> <div><strong>Panel behavior:</strong> voted <strong>"Yes" on 125/160</strong> cases (including <code>48</code> of the <code>60</code> negatives → <strong>73 false positives</strong>).</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="judge-card judge-card--vega"> <div class="judge-cardid"> <div class="judge-cardbrand-row"> <span class="judge-cardlogo-pill"> <img src="3cucharadas.cl" width="64" height="64" alt="Official VegaML potential-well icon"> </span> <div> <span class="judge-cardrole judge-cardrole--rose">Judge 2 · The rejecter</span> <h3 class="judge-cardtitle">VegaML 0.11.0</h3> </div> </div> <div class="jev-chips"> <a class="jev-chip jev-chip--rose" href="NandhaKishorM/vegaml" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><i class="fab fa-github"></i> GitHub</a> <a class="jev-chip jev-chip--rose" href="pypi.org" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PyPI 0.11.0</a> <a class="jev-chip jev-chip--rose" href="huggingface.co" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><code>Qwen3.5-0.8B</code></a> </div> </div> <div class="judge-cardmain"> <p class="judge-carddesc"> Couples a frozen reader (<code>Qwen3.5-0.8B</code>) with a compact <code>14.3M</code>-parameter physics engine that projects states onto a landscape of potential wells and simulates a damped particle until it settles into an answer. </p> <div class="judge-card__stats"> <div><strong>CPU cost:</strong> <code>4.93 GiB</code> RAM · <code>13.66 s</code> cold · <code>1,717 ms</code> p95</div> <div><strong>Panel behavior:</strong> voted <strong>"No" on 131/160</strong> cases and hit <strong>0 out of 60</strong> on the "Yes" class.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="judge-card judge-card--arc"> <div class="judge-cardid"> <div class="judge-cardbrand-row"> <span class="judge-cardicon-box" aria-hidden="true"> <svg width="20" height="20" viewBox="0 0 24 24" fill="none" stroke="currentColor" stroke-width="2" stroke-linecap="round" stroke-linejoin="round"><path d="M12 3v18"/><path d="M5 7h14"/><path d="M5 7l-3 6h6l-3-6z"/><path d="M19 7l-3 6h6l-3-6z"/><path d="M8 21h8"/></svg> </span> <div> <span class="judge-cardrole judge-cardrole--amber">Judge 3 · The silent one</span> <h3 class="judge-cardtitle">Arc Decide 0.4B</h3> </div> </div> <div class="jev-chips"> <a class="jev-chip jev-chip--amber" href="huggingface.co" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Arc53/arc-decide-0.4b</a> <a class="jev-chip jev-chip--amber" href="onnxruntime.ai" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ONNX Runtime</a> </div> </div> <div class="judge-cardmain"> <p class="judge-carddesc"> Compact <code>0.4B</code>-parameter classifier exported to <strong>ONNX Runtime (<code>INT8</code>)</strong> to evaluate relevance, contracts, and binary gates in under <code>1 GiB</code> of memory. </p> <div class="judge-card__stats"> <div><strong>CPU cost:</strong> <code>0.59 GiB</code> RAM · <code>4.21 s</code> cold · <code>950 ms</code> p95</div> <div><strong>Panel behavior:</strong> under its panel threshold (<code>0.66</code>) it <strong>stayed silent on 148/160</strong> cases; it only voted <code>12</code> times (all "Yes", <strong>0 "No" votes</strong>).</div> </div> </div> </div> </div> When I wired all three behind simil-jev --panel, the two bottlenecks depicted in Figure 1 surfaced immediately: <figure class="cuch-d2-fig"> <img src="3cucharadas.cl" width="1087" height="723" alt="Pipeline diagram of simil-jev --panel: input validation and hashes, three judges called sequentially on CPU, and a 2-of-3 quorum where Laya votes Yes, VegaML votes No, and Arc almost never votes, so the panel decides on only 9.38% of cases."> <figcaption> <strong>Figure 1.</strong> Real pipeline of <code>simil-jev --panel</code>. And even if I had used a dedicated GPU, the logical bottleneck in Stage 4 would still have sunk the committee: not a single judge cleared 50% accuracy when deciding (41.41%, 40.80%, and 47.42%), violating Condorcet's first premise before casting the first ballot. --- Spoonful 3: The jury ballots and the 66.67% paradox To see why the committee hit 10 out of 15 when it reached agreement (66.67% selective accuracy) and still proved useless in practice, it suffices to inspect three real ballots from my 240-case bank (80 calibration and 160 test cases): <div class="duels-stack"> <div class="duel-card duel-card--paralisis"> <div class="duel-cardfamily">Family 1 · Contractual precedence (Why "No" vanished)</div> <div class="duel-cardquote">"An unsigned draft does not replace the signed record. I have not yet measured either one on my 160-case bank: <div class="nli-solution-card" role="region" aria-label="Technical specification of the open model I propose to measure on CPU: cross-encoder/nli-deberta-v3-small in ONNX INT8"> <div class="nli-solution-cardtop"> <h3 class="nli-solution-cardtitle">Hypothesis to measure on CPU: nli-deberta-v3-small (ONNX INT8)</h3> <div class="jev-chips"> <a class="jev-chip" href="huggingface.co" target="_blank" rel="noopener">HF Model (Apache)</a> <a class="jev-chip jev-chip--amber" href="arxiv.org" target="_blank" rel="noopener">DeBERTaV3 Paper</a> <a class="jev-chip" href="onnxruntime.ai" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ONNX Runtime</a> </div> </div> <p class="nli-solution-carddesc"> Bidirectional <em>cross-encoder</em> with <strong>disentangled attention</strong> (separating content and relative position) pre-trained via <em>replaced token detection</em> (ELECTRA) and fine-tuned on <code>SNLI</code> + <code>MultiNLI</code>. Its runtime RAM is still to be measured, so I do not yet compare it with the roughly <code>7.8 GiB</code> of RAM used by the three judges. </div> <div class="nli-solution-card__metric"> <strong>3 native classes ("Yes" / "No" / "Undefined")</strong> Emits direct logits for <code>contradiction</code>, <code>entailment</code>, and <code>neutral</code> (<code>87.55%</code> on MNLI <em>mismatched</em>, according to its model card). Whether that fixes the <code>"No"</code> blindness (<code>0/60</code>) on my gates remains to be measured. </div> </div> </div> The takeaway I keep from this proof of concept has a measured part and an unmeasured one. --- References [^arc532025]: Arc53. 2025. Your free AI agent keeps getting IP-blocked: route Crawl4AI and browser-use through a free proxy --- title: "Your free AI agent keeps getting IP-blocked: route Crawl4AI and browser-use through a free proxy" published: true description: Agents that browse from one IP get rate-limited fast. Here's working Python code that sends Crawl4AI and browser-use through a free rotating proxy pool, plus an honest list of what a proxy can't fix. tags: ai, python, webscraping, agents --- You built a small agent. What a proxy fixes, and what it doesn't Before the code, be clear about what you're buying (even when it costs $0): A rotating proxy helps with: - Per-IP rate limits ("too many requests from this IP"). - IP bans after your agent hammered one site. - Datacenter IP blocks, when the exit is a home connection. - Geo: seeing the page a visitor from another country sees. It does not help with: - Serious bot protection (Cloudflare challenges, DataDome, PerimeterX, Amazon). The free pool in one paragraph SolProxy's free list re-tests public proxies every minute with a real HTTPS request and drops any that tamper with TLS. Setup: register, copy your token from the dashboard, and use it as the proxy password: export SOLPROXY_TOKEN=your_token_here curl -x "http://free:$SOLPROXY_TOKEN@ws.solproxy.net:8501" https://api.ipify.org You should see an IP that isn't yours. 1. Crawl4AI: pages to LLM-ready markdown, through the pool Crawl4AI turns a page into clean markdown your model can read. It takes a proxy in BrowserConfig: pip install crawl4ai crawl4ai-setup # installs the browser # crawl_tool.py import asyncio import os from crawl4ai import AsyncWebCrawler, BrowserConfig, CacheMode, CrawlerRunConfig, ProxyConfig SOLPROXY = ProxyConfig( server="http://ws.solproxy.net:8501", username="free", # flags go here: "free-us", "free-sticky10m-job1" password=os.environ["SOLPROXY_TOKEN"], # your token from the dashboard ) BROWSER = BrowserConfig(headless=True, proxy_config=SOLPROXY) RUN = CrawlerRunConfig(cache_mode=CacheMode.BYPASS, page_timeout=45_000) async def fetch_markdown(url: str, tries: int = 3) -> str: """Fetch a page through the free pool and return LLM-ready markdown.""" last = "no attempt" for _ in range(tries): # A new browser means new connections, so each try leaves from another proxy. async with AsyncWebCrawler(config=BROWSER) as crawler: r = await crawler.arun(url, config=RUN) if r.success and (r.status_code or 200) < 400: return r.markdown.raw_markdown last = f"{r.status_code} {r.error_message or ''}".strip() raise RuntimeError(f"{url}: failed after {tries} tries ({last})") if __name__ == "__main__": md = asyncio.run(fetch_markdown("https://news.ycombinator.com")) print(md[:500]) fetch_markdown is already an agent tool. 2. browser-use: a full browsing agent behind the pool browser-use lets an LLM click and type in a real browser. Its Browser takes a proxy too: pip install browser-use # agent.py import asyncio import os from browser_use import Agent, Browser, ChatOpenAI from browser_use.browser.profile import ProxySettings browser = Browser( headless=True, proxy=ProxySettings( server="http://ws.solproxy.net:8501", username="free-sticky10m-agent1", # keep one exit IP for 10 minutes password=os.environ["SOLPROXY_TOKEN"], ), ) agent = Agent( task="Open news.ycombinator.com and list the top 5 story titles with their points.", llm=ChatOpenAI(model="gpt-4.1-mini"), # any LLM browser-use supports browser=browser, ) asyncio.run(agent.run()) Note the username. 3. Plain Playwright If your agent drives Playwright directly: import asyncio import os from playwright.async_api import async_playwright async def main(): async with async_playwright() as p: browser = await p.chromium.launch(proxy={ "server": "http://ws.solproxy.net:8501", "username": "free", "password": os.environ["SOLPROXY_TOKEN"], }) page = await browser.new_page() await page.goto("https://api.ipify.org") print(await page.inner_text("body")) # the proxy's IP, not yours await browser.close() asyncio.run(main()) One thing you'll see in a lot of proxy tutorials: ignore_https_errors=True. Useful flags All flags go in the username, in any order: | Username | What it does | |---|---| | free | New proxy per connection | | free-us, free-de | Prefer that country (falls back to any if none is live) | | free-sticky10m-mysession | Same proxy for up to 10 minutes while it stays up (sticky1m up to sticky1h) | | free-residential | Only IPs whose ISP isn't a known hosting company. Returns 503 instead of falling back | How it did when I ran it I ran the Crawl4AI code and the browser-use proxy setup against the live pool from a home connection before posting (Crawl4AI 0.9.5, browser-use 0.13.14, Playwright 1.64.1). One run, so read it as a sanity check, not a benchmark: - Rotation: four free requests to ipify came out from four different IPs. (The LLM part of the agent doesn't care which proxy is underneath.) One thing about sticky sessions: free proxies die, and when a pinned one does, the gateway quietly moves you to another live one instead of failing. So "sticky" means "the same proxy for as long as it stays up, up to 10 minutes", not a guarantee. When free stops being enough You'll know: you hit the 2.5 GB daily cap, or a target needs a real residential IP that doesn't fall over.

SlothSurf: The Zero-Effort Autonomous Browser Agent for Lazy Humans 🦥 This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 3: Slow and Steady What I Built October 20th is International Sloth Day, and sloths have life figured out: they move at their own pace, conserve energy, and never burn calories unless absolutely necessary. Meanwhile, humans spend hours every day on tedious digital chores: - Digging through 50 Hacker News or Reddit comments to find the actual point - Checking 3 weather sites to decide whether to get out of bed - Comparing prices across tabs while popups block the screen - Filling out multi-page web forms SlothSurf is an autonomous browser agent that takes a high-level instruction ("Summarize the top 3 tech discussions today", "Find me a budget coffee maker under $25", "Check the weather and tell me if I have permission to stay in bed") and executes it inside a real Chromium browser: navigating, scrolling, clicking, extracting the key insight, and handing you the answer while you stay on the couch. It features: - Interactive Sloth CLI with ASCII art, real-time step streaming, and lazy presets - Streamlit web dashboard with a one-click mission launcher plus model and slow-motion sliders - Sloth-tuned prompt that conserves actions, takes the most direct clicks, and delivers the bare minimum needed to keep you informed Code {% embed algo-abdullah/slothsurf %} Run it yourself in 3 steps: # 1. Clone & install git clone https://github.com/algo-abdullah/slothsurf.git cd slothsurf pip install -r requirements.txt playwright install chromium # 2. Add your Grok API key echo "XAI_API_KEY=your_xai_key_here" > .env # 3. Launch python main.py # Terminal CLI streamlit run app.py # Web dashboard How I Built It The architecture is clean and decoupled: [ User (CLI / Streamlit UI) ] │ ▼ [ Sloth Agent Engine ] ├── Agent harness: browser-use (open source) ├── Browser controller: Playwright (Chromium) └── Vision reasoning: xAI Grok API (grok-2-vision-1212) │ ▼ [ Live Chromium Browser Navigation ] - Harness: browser-use handles screenshot capture, coordinate mapping, and browser action sequencing. The Lazy Payoff The future of AI shouldn't just be about working faster; it should be about working less. SlothSurf turns multi-tab, multi-click chores into one sentence typed from the couch. Stay slow, stay steady, and happy International Sloth Day! 🦥 ---
i’m editing my own videos with claude now here’s the setup: 1. install claude code 2. paste this into claude: set up browser-use/video-use for me. read install.md first and tell me when it’s ready 3. add your elevenlabs api key when asked 4. put your raw clips in one folder 5. open claude code inside that folder then use this prompt: remove bad takes and long pauses, keep the natural rhythm, add captions in my style and export 9:16 claude transcribes the clips and shows you a cut plan once you approve it, the finished video appears as edit/final.mp4 for changes, send the timestamp: undo the cut at 00:18
