Rivet: Fast, high-density, scalable orchestration for agentic workloads (6.5k stars) What it does All text below is quoted directly from the project README. >Rivet Actors are the primitive for stateful workloads. Built for AI agents, collaborative apps, and durable execution. What is Rivet? - 72 KB per Actor: An Actor lives inside a node process you already run, not in its own container or VM. - 6.9 ms cold starts: A cold start includes scheduling the Actor, creating its storage, and serving the first request. No image pull, no container boot. - Billions of Actors on one control plane: Actors are scheduled independently, so adding capacity means adding machines. - Hibernates when idle, wakes on demand: An idle Actor writes its state and unloads. The next request brings it back in 4.4 ms with nothing lost. - Keep state with each Actor: Every Actor gets its own SQLite database and key-value storage. - One Rust binary and a bucket: There is no database to run and no message bus. - Run code agents generate at runtime: Each piece of new, untrusted code gets an Actor of its own, with its own database and filesystem and no reach into anyone else's. - Works with the tools you already use: Typed SDKs for your backend and React hooks for your frontend. >npx skills add rivet-dev/skills Repository rivet-dev/rivet Repository stats |Metric|Value| |:-|:-| |Stars|6,510| |Forks|291| |Last release|v2.3.31 (2026-10-27)| |Languages|Rust 72%, TypeScript 24.9%, Swift 1.2%| |Contributors|31| |AI contributor accounts (Claude / Codex / Cursor / Copilot)|@claude (52 commits), @Copilot (12 commits), @codex (1 commits)| |AI co-authored commits|Claude: 51, Codex: 1, Copilot: 12| Main contributor |Field|Value| |:-|:-| |Name|Nathan Flurry| |GitHub|@NathanFlurry| |Commits to this repo|3,279 (top contributor)| |Bio|building open-source realtime tooling @rivet-gg. previously krunker, a| |Company / Location|@rivet-gg / San Francisco, CA| |Followers|661| ────────────────────────────── 📌 If you want to browse more repos like this, we've organized them by category and rankings here: bestgithubrepositories.com 🗂️ We're also archiving repos where possible, so useful projects don't disappear when they're removed from GitHub.
