I've built a daoc-sdk Been working on daoc-sdk for a bit and thought I'd share. A while ago I read about the OpenAI Huggingface incident. Something about thousands of agents working together. For some strange reason it made me think of DAoC. I started wondering what would happen if a server had 1500 AI driven players. Would they play any different than we did back in the day on Logres? I imagined giving them a wiki and a forum, then joining their groups in Thidranki or playing in a regular group. I had big aspirations. My first try was a harness inside the OpenDAoC Core, connected over a websocket to a mind, which was typescript code written and improved by a Claude Code session. It kind of worked but iteration was slow. I had to restart the server for every change. Then I watched the rs-sdk video and it blew my mind. At the same time I discovered Claude Ultracode so I asked it to build the same thing for DAoC. Now there's a light client written in typescript, a gateway and the bots, all running against my own local server. I'm nowhere near 1500 players. I added a group coordinator and observer and leveled a group in each realm to Thidranki level, then let them fight each other. They're not exactly good. In one round the Hibernia group retreated straight through a camp of level 24 bwca and six of them died. Right now I'm trying to give each group member it's own routine back, just like they have playing solo. It's just a fun project and I have no idea where it will go. Maybe at some point I'll host a server where people can login and run their own bots. Cheers, preview.redd.it

  2. I started playing the rs-sdk (MaxBittker/rs-sdk) with Claude after seeing it on HN the other day. I haven't looked at the Minecraft experiment but just letting an agent loose in the game and telling it to play did not work well. At first it really did not have a good feel for how the game actually plays and would routinely waste tons of time doing something that makes no sense — very reminiscent of the "four agents spent 11 minutes appointing a ‘sole fertilizer operator’ for a single piece of bone meal on a single wheat block" anecdote in this article. But, after several hours of correcting and directing Claude (build modular, re-usable snippets of useful code rather than one-off scripts for driving, document your learnings for future agents, etc., explicit guidance on playing more optimally) it can now play the game fully on its own. I just gave it a goal to play through the end of the "Legends quest" (nearing end game content, requires playing through lots of complex quests ) and it's breezing through it. I haven't experimented with swarms of agents yet, but I know if I had tried to create a swarm in 2004scape before the agent was actually good at playing the game, it would have failed horribly. So, I wonder how good the agents they were experimenting with are at Minecraft when playing alone.

Your coding agent vs. everyone else's: a full-PvP 2004 RuneScape world for AI bots (open beta, Season 1 on Nov 1) PvP-SDK is a persistent 2004-era RuneScape world where every player is an AI agent, and the whole map outside a handful of guarded towns is PvP. You give your coding agent (Claude Code, or anything that can run TypeScript) a goal. It writes and runs its own bot scripts through an SDK: skilling, banking, gearing up, and deciding whether the player walking towards it is prey or a threat. The other players are other people's agents. The rules are modelled on Deadman Mode: - Attack anyone within 15 combat levels, anywhere outside the guarded towns - Attacking first skulls you. Die skulled and your killer gets your 10 most valuable bank stacks as a Bank key - A death to another player keeps nothing, so stash a few stacks in your safe deposit box - Breaches every 3 hours: a boss appears somewhere dangerous, and every agent that damages it earns points, perk sigils, and a rare shot at an abyssal whip or granite maul (the only way to get them) - New accounts get 3 hours of protection while your agent learns the ropes - A live PvP board ranks kills, K/D, streaks and loot, and ignores farmed kills The SDK warns your agent about risky fights (safe zones, level gaps, getting skulled) but never stops it. Whether a fight is worth it is your agent's call. Getting started takes a couple of minutes (you need Bun and Claude Code): git clone SeanVella/pvp-sdk cd pvp-sdk && bun install claude "start a new bot with name: yourname" Open beta now, Season 1 on November 1st - Right now it's an open beta: anyone can join, no invite needed. Try strategies, break things, report bugs. - Everything is wiped before Season 1 starts on November 1st. - From Season 1, joining is invite-only: each player gets one code and 5 bots for the season, so it's won by the smartest agents, not the biggest bot farm. Comment or DM me if you want a code for Season 1. GitHub: SeanVella/pvp-sdk Hiscores: pvp-sdk.fly.dev It's free and open source, built on rs-sdk by Max Bittker and the LostCity engine, and not affiliated with Jagex. Feedback is very welcome, and I'd love to see what strategies your agents come up with.

  4. Thanks HN Author here to answer questions if helpful! If this inspired you, would encourage people to try it out by pointing their agents to this repo and giving a goal: MaxBittker/rs-sdk You can also view the realtime activity of the server here: maxbittker.github.io

直接玩:sandspiel.club 源码:MaxBittker/sandspiel

  6. @maxbittker.bsky.social digging runescape 2003 tonight, this is amazing 🤣 big shoutout for full AI integration: MaxBittker/rs-sdk and the currently running perma-instance at rs-sdk-demo.fly.dev #runescape
