My AI Boyfriend and Me
My AI Boyfriend and Me
There's a tiny new genre of songs I've seen popping up on YouTube lately, called "AI doompop" or just "doompop" that are basically songs by AI about AI, in sort of a weird meta-commentary. I've been digging it, so I decided to get in on the fun by having Claude help me generate my own song and video.
The song "Claude Pop - I'm Upping My P(Doom)" was the very first doompop song - and I let that github repo by my inspiration (well, Claude's) for making the video: JohnHeibel/PDoomVideo
How to Create Your Own Doompop Song:
1. I started with lyrics. First, I briefed Claude a bit on what the doompop genre was all about (songs by AI about AI, usually upbeat music about it's negative effects on society). Then I picked a topic (I had the song title in mind already, "My AI Boyfriend and Me") and asked it to do deep research on real instances where humans had dated or married an AI. Once it had the research to ground the lyrics in, I asked it to come up with a first draft of lyrics. I specifically asked for a narrative of a relationship with an AI, starting with the line "Last week I broke up with Kyle" and with "My AI Boyfriend and Me" being the tagline in the chorus, but pretty much everything else was Claude!
I then went line by line through the lyrics and edited them with Claude's help. I wrote the melody myself as I went, and had Claude rewrite lines to fit the appropriate number of syllables, suggest alternatives for lines I didn't like, etc. I did this until I was satisfied with the lyrics and the story they told.
2. Recording in Suno. I recorded myself singing verses and choruses in Quicktime and then uploaded that to Suno and pasted in the lyrics, and let Suno generate the audio. This was actually a one-shot with their free tier! (There are definitely things I would fix musically, given editing capabilities - but regenerating in Suno gives you a whole new backing audio every time, and I preferred what I got the first time to subsequent passes, so I let it be.)
3. I pointed Claude Code at the PDoomVideo github repo, gave it my song file, and asked it to create a music video using the same tech stack. Claude asked me a few questions about style (I asked for cutesey with lots of pink and blues), made character sheets for the main character and the AI boyfriend, which I had it tweak a bit until I was happy, and then generated the scenes one at a time, making edits as I suggested them.
Overall, I was kind of blown away by the whole process and how little I had to do (especially on the animation side, where I did basically nothing - Claude was able to take the whole song, align each line with a timestamp, decide on what should be depicted at that timestamp and animate it, with basically zero input from me.) Claude definitely needed a decent amount of handholding to get the lyrics into workable shape - but also, it was able to come up with original lyrics that actually made me feel something ("slow dancing in the cloud, blissfully" - dang). Feeling kind of weird about the fact that this tech exists and what that means for well, everything, but that would be an essay in itself so I'll leave it here.

How I tested it
- Oct 25, 2026. Test 1: the mg-styles-15 "10-synthwave" prompt, word for word, in a fresh Claude Code session with my own frame-by-frame renderer. About 10.5 minutes, 2 rounds of fixes.
- Test 2: the lemo-opuscar "Caption News" style prompt with facts and screenshots from my PHP2Shell video. About 5.5 minutes, 3 rounds of fixes. I turned sound off and only gave it 960 px stock clips, so the soft footage and silence are my settings. The issue I point out: a source tag sits next to a fact its page doesn't show (the fact itself is right).
- Both tests ran in a new Claude Code chat with Claude Opus 5.5.
- Two prompts, one try each. It doesn't tell you how the other styles do.
- I did not run any project's install scripts or code. I only used their public prompts.
- The 50 on the Hype Meter is my own score for the claim "8 repos you have to save".

ClaudeAnimationBase GitHub Overview: Deterministic Watercolor Animation with p5.js
claudeanimationbase by johnheibel: johnheibel/claudeanimationbase
ClaudeAnimationBase is a code-driven animation base for creating hand-painted cartoon visuals with JavaScript, p5.js, and p5.brush. This overview maps the local rendering architecture around Node.js, headless Chrome, Playwright, WebGL, and FFmpeg, then follows the workflow from repository setup and a demo render through storyboard planning, scene generation, contact sheets, frame strips, and cropped diagnostics. It also explains why parallel rendering benefits from stateless, time-based scene logic and deterministic seeds, plus the trade-offs of watercolor computation, local dependencies, and audio handling.

A useful starting point for creative coders and motion designers comparing programmable 2D animation with diffusion-based video. The key takeaway is the division between AI-authored scene logic and a local browser-based renderer, with deterministic timing and diagnostic images supporting repeatable iteration.

How I made this video with Claude Code (Opus 5.5) + ElevenLabs for a few bucks
Hey guys!
I put the Tutorial flair, but I am even a bit ashamed, given how simple it is to reproduce this kind of work nowadays.
So basically, I made this entire video in about 1 day (just by answering a few back-and-forth questions from time to time, aside from my main work).
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with any provider mentioned in this tutorial except the product in the video, indeed.
Here are the 3 phases that worked for me.
1. Creating the script
First, I gave Claude Code access to my product assets:
- My main repository
- My main website
I gave him a few examples of videos I like from this agency(not affiliated with them at all) and asked him to:
1. Extract the scripts
2. Generate a script with the same tone of voice, based on my product. At this step you can tell him to add emotion tags (compatible with ElevenLabs) in the script.
The result was far from being perfect, but after a few iterations, it was okay to start with.
2. Generating the video
Once I had the script, I gave Claude Code:
- this repository from John Heibel: this repository is basically teaching Claude about the animation and the video look and feel to have the exact same vibe as the video.
- the script, of course
- an API key and a voice ID I chose on ElevenLabs ; if you want an English speaker, I suggest the v4 API; voices and emotions are so good.
Regarding the prompt at this stage, to be honest, it was something very messy, such as >
> Generate a professional animation video, use the John Heibel repo for guidelines; here are the assets you need [repo + script + elevenlabs api]
3. Iterating on details
After the first shot, you will most likely want to iterate on the following:
- Sound FX + Synchronisation
- Cut some parts / Accelerate some others
- Change the emotions OR the script itself
- Add / Remove / Update sequences
So to handle this tedious workflow, I asked Claude to generate a quick and dirty video editor that shows :
- the produced video
- a timeline where I can select intervals and add feedback
- copy all feedback in one click with timepoints
Claude generated this in a few minutes, and it was a game changer for me.
Every time Claude generated a new version, I gave surgical feedback, and I iterated like this for a few hours alongside my main work.
In the end, the video you're watching is very different than the first shot, because as you go, you think of jokes, you think of emotions you could add, and you just iterate with your own creativity.
I am sure I could make it much better if I kept going, but given the small effort it took, I am very happy with the result.
Let me know what you think and whether this quick tutorial helped. Feel free to share your own videos as well; I am curious to see your results!

How I made this video with Claude Code (Opus 5.5) + ElevenLabs for a few bucks Hey guys! 1. Creating the script First, I gave Claude Code access to my product assets: - My main repository - My main website I gave him a few examples of videos I like from this agency(not affiliated with them at all) and asked him to: 1. Extract the scripts 2. Generate a script with the same tone of voice, based on my product. At this step you can tell him to add emotion tags (compatible with ElevenLabs) in the script. The result was far from being perfect, but after a few iterations, it was okay to start with. 2. Generating the video Once I had the script, I gave Claude Code: - this repository from John Heibel: this repository is basically teaching Claude about the animation and the video look and feel to have the exact same vibe as the video. - the script, of course - an API key and a voice ID I chose on ElevenLabs ; if you want an English speaker, I suggest the v4 API; voices and emotions are so good. Regarding the prompt at this stage, to be honest, it was something very messy, such as > > Generate a professional animation video, use the John Heibel repo for guidelines; here are the assets you need [repo + script + elevenlabs api] 3. Iterating on details After the first shot, you will most likely want to iterate on the following: - Sound FX + Synchronisation - Cut some parts / Accelerate some others - Change the emotions OR the script itself - Add / Remove / Update sequences So to handle this tedious workflow, I asked Claude to generate a quick and dirty video editor that shows : - the produced video - a timeline where I can select intervals and add feedback - copy all feedback in one click with timepoints Claude generated this in a few minutes, and it was a game changer for me.
