What does it do?
HatchZip is an archive extractor for Windows, macOS, and Linux, with a desktop app and command-line tool, that extracts ZIP, 7z, RAR, tar, and split archives in place; it removes parts of the archive as it extracts, so it needs free space for the extracted files only. [1a][1b] Before changing anything, it checks that the extraction will fit and keeps a safety margin of free space, and it can resume after being stopped or crashing. [2] A directly supported use case is extracting a large game download on a nearly full disk. [3]
