What does it do?
x402 is an open standard for internet-native payments that is built on HTTP. [1a][1b] It lets a client pay for an internet resource, such as a webpage, file server, RPC service, or API, that accepts HTTP/HTTPS requests. [2] In a typical flow, a resource server returns a 402 Payment Required response with payment requirements, and the client sends a payment payload for verification and settlement; for example, the exact scheme (a defined way of moving money) can transfer a specific amount, such as $1 to read an article.
