What does it do?
Mastodon is software for running a social-network server where users can publish text, links, pictures, and video and follow other users. [1a][1b] It uses ActivityPub, an open standard for connecting social networks, so users on one Mastodon server can communicate with users on other servers that implement ActivityPub. [2a][2b] For example, a person on one server can follow and interact with a user on another server, including one running different ActivityPub software. [3]
