What does it do?
It is a registry and gateway for MCP servers, which are tool servers that AI clients can connect to. [1a][1b] It helps someone find MCP servers and run their tools through one HTTP API or standard MCP endpoint. [2a][2b] For example, a registered server is exposed at /mcp/ so an MCP client like VS Code can connect and call a tool such as echo. [3a][3b][3c]
