ArtCraft Changes Every 2 Minutes. So I Built Something to Watch It. ArtCraft apps (PhotoCraft, FilmCraft, PdfCraft, VectorCraft, EffectCraft, LightCraft…) change about every 2 minutes on average: 21,000+ public changes since launch. I built a free live map that watches them all and answers 3 questions: is the app still alive, should I update today, and is my download the real one? Apps Craft Watch follows (16): ArtCraft · PhotoCraft (like Photoshop) · FilmCraft (like Premiere) · PdfCraft (like Acrobat) · VectorCraft · EffectCraft · FigCraft · LightCraft · DesignCraft · WordCraft · GridCraft · DeckCraft · CadCraft · SoundCraft · AniCraft · CraftLauncher 🔗 Try it (free, no login, no cookies, no tracking): overprivileged.github.io Code: overprivileged/craft-watch I've worked in application security for years and never seen software move this fast. So I planned it with Claude, Claude Code built it in one night, and I checked every step. Then I followed one real security fix in PdfCraft, from the first suggestion all the way to your computer, to see if it actually got there. ✅ Do this tonight 1. Download only from your app's official GitHub releases page. 2. Check the file with the published checksum (Mac: shasum -a 256 FILE · Windows: certutil -hashfile FILE SHA256 · Linux: sha256sum FILE). 3. "Merged" is not "installed": a fix only reaches you with the next release. Check your version on Craft Watch. Numbers in the video are from 23 Oct 2026; the live map keeps moving. ⏱ Chapters 0:00 Every ArtCraft review is already outdated 0:19 What ArtCraft is 0:33 Why I built this (your 3 questions) 1:07 Building it in one night (time-lapse) 1:41 Is it still alive? 2:19 Who's the fastest (and how much is AI)? 2:49 Should I update today? 3:29 Is my download the real one? 3:47 One real security fix: did it reach you? 4:33 The honest bit 4:50 Edited in FilmCraft 📚 Sources (as of 24 Oct 2026) All numbers: public GitHub data of the storytold/* repos (commits, pull requests, issues, releases), collected by Craft Watch. The security fix: pdfcraft#4220 PdfCraft releases: github.com/storytold/pdfcraft/releases ⚠️ Hobby project, built in one night: it only reads public GitHub records. Signals, not a guarantee: it never says "safe", and it might have errors. Spot one? Tell me in the comments. Quite rare to see an issue-to-PR ratio like this 1.1k issues vs. 852 pull requests. storytold/pdfcraft

Adobe, Office, Outlook, ElevenLabs: AI is cloning all of it in Rust (Made a lil trailer for this, starring the apps themselves. Every clip is the real app running btw.) BrowseCraft: a small web browser written in Rust, with tabs, a built-in ad blocker, and its own rendering engine. (They built their own HTML/CSS layout & rendering engine in Rust, plus a Brave-style ad blocker. In the trailer it's literally rendering remade.wiki with it!) How We Got Here (In Case You Missed the Last 2 Weeks) 1. The Adobe Massacre: It all started when @storytold went viral with I've created Open Source 100% Rust replacements for 7 of Adobe's apps (now at 168,000+ combined GitHub stars, PhotoCraft alone at 67k). 2. The Microsoft 365 Weekend Speedrun: A week later, we got pure Rust Word, Excel and PowerPoint (90% core functionality and 501/523 Excel formulas, according to the readme). Someone even vibe-coded craft-vba so the Excel clone runs legacy corporate VBA macros. 3. 100+ Enterprise Monopolies on a Hit List: And now there are 100+ paid apps clean-room reimplemented in Rust, with more every week. This is getting comical. We need a live stream of the meetings going on right now at Adobe and Microsoft. Lol "Okay, But Surely Complex Enterprise Apps Are Safe..." Though things like Outlook are hard to implement. We will nev-... Oops, too late. We got MailCraft now (actually two separate teams built competing Rust Outlook clones this week). It renders HTML emails without a browser engine and hooks into Claude via MCP. Remember ElevenLabs? Where people pay $22-$330/mo to make AI voice clones of celebs and stuff? We have a fully offline clone now: VoiceStudio, 74k stars, doing voice cloning, dubbing and audiobooks in 646 languages! Even $20,000/yr engineering software is getting hit with SolidCraft (Fusion 360), BimCraft (Revit) and FieldCraft (Abaqus physics sims). And while the new kids speedrun office suites in 48 hours, ReactOS sits right next to them on remade.wiki, the OG project that spent 25+ years cloning Windows the hard way in C. Greybeards vs. weekend AI swarms. 💀 I Actually Downloaded & Tested PdfCraft Today So I Grabbed the portable PdfCraft (Acrobat Pro clone) and threw a damaged, 68.5 MB, 2,744-page engineering pdf at it: - It launched in under 2 seconds, fixed the broken PDF on its own, and let me edit the cover text and drag images around right away. That's genuinely fking insane. - The GitHub Repo Is an Autonomous Fking AI Hive Mind or Somethin: 945 issues, 630 PRs. I reported a glitched right-click menu, and within 2 minutes a bot had labeled it and linked it to a PR where some dude's AI agent had already rebuilt the whole menu. It's closed now. I did literally nothing lol. One guy opened 5 PRs in 60 seconds today, all farming the built-in contributors leaderboard. Meanwhile, some people are using AI to oneshot 700-page books! We are so booked. Been an insane week. What a time to be alive. Wouldn't use BrowseCraft for anything important yet tho, a brand-new browser engine is gonna have security holes... But the offline apps like PdfCraft? USE THEM AS MUCH AS U WANT LMAOO!!! But genuine question: which paid app do you think gets remade next? And do you think any of these actually survive once the initial hype dies down? (You can even contribute with ur leftover tokens lol! :D No setup, just go on to claude.ai/code (or whatever agentic ide you use) and put a link like pdfcraft, and it would automatically start working on the issues/PRs and stuff!!)

Ask Agent: letting your own agent (Claude Code, Codex...) edit files in the Craft apps I've been working on a shared Ask Agent module for the Craft apps. These are four proposed integrations, not released features. Select some text, cells or shapes, write an instruction, and your existing agent edits the file. You can follow up in the same thread, keep the result or undo the request. If several agents are connected, you pick one. The bit I wanted was to keep using my own session and setup. Claude Code, Codex, another harness or provider: the app doesn't call a model or store an API key. The agent needs to be connected to the app's MCP/control interface. That also means one session can work across apps without starting a new conversation each time. Figures from GridCraft, a summary in WordCraft, then a slide in DeckCraft. If the graphics apps adopt the module, I'd like the same flow for a FilmCraft clip with audio cleaned up in SoundCraft, or a frame edited in PhotoCraft and used in a slide. Those graphics integrations aren't implemented here. The Actions menu offers a few starting prompts, all editable before you send: - WordCraft: shorten, fix grammar, rewrite the tone, translate or summarize. - GridCraft: clean cells, create or explain formulas, summarize, format a table or highlight outliers. - DeckCraft: rewrite, make bullets, align shapes, match styling or draft speaker notes. - PdfCraft: summarize, explain, highlight, add review notes, prepare form fields or mark text for redaction. Signing and applying redactions stay manual. Reviewing what it did The Conversation section shows earlier requests and replies while you work. After Keep, the app keeps the request and answer in its comments or notes. That is the conversation trail, not a document-version browser. - The target is held while the agent works, to avoid competing edits. - Its answer stays in the file as an agent-named comment or note; the exact review UI depends on the app. - Follow-ups stay in the request thread and undo group. Keep and Undo are human controls. - The connection that claims the request owns it; other connections cannot take over its edits. The shared part The main proposal is craft-ask-agent in craft-libs: a shared request queue, ownership rules and optional egui bubble. WordCraft, GridCraft, DeckCraft and PdfCraft are the first four examples. Each app supplies its own document operations. The actions, UI and behaviour are proposals too, so they can be adapted rather than copied everywhere. PRs: Shared module · WordCraft · GridCraft · DeckCraft · PdfCraft · PDF MCP bridge Still a work in progress. Feedback on the flow or the shared/app-specific split would help.
