Digital Downloads Marketplace | Open-Source Spree Commerce Digital Downloads Marketplace: sellers on your marketplace attach their own downloadable files (multitracks, chord charts, samples, e-books) to the products they sell, by hand in their own seller panel or through the Seller API with an AI assistant such as Claude. Built into Spree Commerce, the open-source eCommerce platform. WHAT YOU SEE IN THIS VIDEO Store owner: in Settings, Marketplace, one switch lets sellers upload their own files, and you choose which file types they may upload. ZIP, MP3, WAV and PDF are on the default list. Seller, the manual way: in her own seller panel, a seller attaches the multitrack to her song. A file type that is not on your list is refused. Seller, the automated way: the seller asks Claude to upload the stems, the preview and the chord chart in her folder. Claude signs in to the marketplace and uploads all three through the Seller API, under the same rules. Store owner: adding or replacing a file sends the product back to you for review, off sale until you approve it. Everything shown is the real admin dashboard, the real seller panel and a real Claude session against the store. The marketplace, the seller and the song are made up. CHAPTERS 0:00 Store owner: let sellers upload files, choose the file types 0:21 Seller, the manual way: attach files in their own panel 0:41 Seller, the automated way: Claude uploads through the Seller API 1:14 A changed file goes back to you for review QUICK ANSWERS Is it part of open-source Spree Commerce? Yes. Seller file uploads are in the free, open-source Community Edition, as part of its multi-vendor marketplace. Can sellers upload anything they like? No. You switch seller uploads on (they are off by default) and choose the accepted file types; any other type is refused. Can a seller automate the uploads? Yes. The Seller API accepts the same uploads as the seller panel, so a seller's AI assistant or their own tools can attach files in bulk, and your rules still apply. What happens when a seller changes a file on a product that is already on sale? The product goes back to your review and is off sale until you approve it. You can switch that review off. Marketplace Sellers Ship Their Own Orders: Seller Delivery | Open-Source Spree Commerce Marketplace sellers ship their own orders with their own delivery methods: a multi-vendor marketplace feature built into Spree Commerce, the open-source eCommerce platform. PART OF SPREE COMMERCE MARKETPLACE Seller delivery is among the marketplace features in the open-source Community Edition of Spree Commerce, alongside seller onboarding, commission rules, order splitting, seller payouts and the seller's own panel. All marketplace feature videos: youtube.com WHAT YOU SEE IN THIS VIDEO In their own seller panel, a seller adds a delivery method of their own, with a price, and the boxes and pallets they ship in. A return on the seller's order comes back to the seller, who approves and receives it. In your dashboard, the seller's methods sit inside your own delivery zones, tagged with the seller's name, so your delivery rules still apply.
