[Guide] CachyOS on PS5 13.60: install, black screen fixes, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DualSense A few people asked how I got CachyOS running smoothly on my PS5, so I wrote everything up in one place: 👉 Full guide: https://github.com/abrocoma/cachyos-ps5-guide Tested on - PS5 firmware 13.60 - soniciso1's ps5-linux-loader - Official ps5-linux CachyOS image on a 1 TB USB-C SSD - Kernel 7.2.3, KDE Plasma 6.8 on Wayland What works: KDE desktop, Steam (desktop + Gaming Mode), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DualSense, fan/boost control, hardware video decode in Chrome and Firefox, 1080p@120. What the guide covers - Flashing the image and booting it (the PS5 goes into rest mode first, wait for the solid orange light, then power on) - Black screen on first boot: usually just Ctrl+Alt+F2 → Ctrl+Alt+F1 with a USB keyboard - Skipping Gaming Mode and booting straight to the desktop (switching from Gaming Mode to desktop crashes) - Getting Wi-Fi working and connecting from tty2 - Bluetooth adapter missing + DualSense not reconnecting - Fan, zram, Chrome hardware decode, refresh rates - An install.sh that applies most of the fixes in one go Things that tripped me up - Don't run any other payloads before the Linux loader. It crashes. Fresh boot → exploit (Y2JB, Relapse, etc.) → Linux loader only. - Use the front USB-C or rear USB 3.0 ports, not the front USB 2.0 port. - Default login is steam / steam (you'll need it for tty2). Since SSH is on, it's worth changing with passwd, especially on shared Wi-Fi. - Switching TTYs can disconnect your USB keyboard/mouse. Just replug them. El sistema detecta la GPU AMD usando RADV (GFX1013), con Mesa 26.2.5 y Vulkan 1.4.354. - Investigando los logs del kernel, encontré algunos errores preocupantes de memoria gráfica: - Failed to pin framebuffer ... -12 - [drm] Not enough memory for command submission! Todavía estoy tratando de averiguar si el problema tiene que ver con la gestión de la memoria de la GPU, los drivers de gráficos, la compatibilidad con Proton o incluso la configuración de Ubuntu. ¿Alguien ha logrado hacer que Diablo IV corra en una PS5 con Linux? ¿Cambiar de Ubuntu a CachyOS u otra distro enfocada en gaming de verdad ayudaría, o lo más probable es que me topé con el mismo problema? Diablo IV en Steam con Ps5 Linux 🎮 Trying to get Diablo IV running on Linux on my PS5 Slim — need some help! Hi everyone! 👋 I’ve been experimenting with running Linux on my PS5 Slim using the ps5-linux-loader project by SonicIso. I installed Ubuntu on an external USB 3.0 SSD, and now I’m trying to get Diablo IV running through Steam. It’s been quite a journey so far! The game either fails to launch or reaches the main menu/character selection screen before freezing completely. Here’s what I’ve tried and discovered so far: - Tested different Proton versions, including Proton 10, Experimental, Proton-GE and Proton 11, without finding a working solution. - Checked Vulkan and graphics support. The system detects the AMD GPU using RADV (GFX1013), with Mesa 26.2.5 and Vulkan 1.4.354. - Investigated the kernel logs and found some concerning graphics memory errors: - Failed to pin framebuffer ... -12 - [drm] Not enough memory for command submission! I’m still trying to determine whether the problem is related to GPU memory management, graphics drivers, Proton compatibility, or the Ubuntu setup itself.
