  1. Use a meta-search engine like SearXNG [1] and you're searching not only ad-free but also - if you choose your sources right - mostly bias-free as far as that is possible. You'll get the results Google filters out but others show, those which Kagi doesn't want you to see but others show, those which those others don't want you to see but Google or Kagi or fill_in_the_blanks show. 2. 搜完东西,广告就跟着你满网跑?可以换一种搜法。 SearXNG 是开源元搜索:一次查诧汇总多家结果,默认不给你做广告画像,GitHub 近 4 万星。可自己架,也能用公共实例。在意隐私的可以先收藏: searxng/searxng Search once, ads follow you everywhere? Try another way. SearXNG (~39k stars): open metasearch that aggregates engines without building an ad profile. Self-host or use a public instance—bookmark for privacy.

  4. 🔎 FOSS Highlight: SearXNG Search without handing one provider your whole history. SearXNG pulls results from multiple search services, doesn’t profile you, and you can host your own instance. AGPL-3.0 · 39k⭐ searxng/searxng #FOSS #OpenSource #Privacy

  5. I took this a bit further and started self-hosting a data aggregator that strips metadata and such from search engines for more privacy. It's not for everybody, I admit, but it is cool. Warning: if you haven't ever self hosted, this will send you down a rabbit hole lol. searxng/searxng

  6. @lasse_ai @MiaAI_lab Very nice! Similar setup on my end. One of the must have for me was SearNXG. searxng/searxng Additionally I am running LibreChat to interface with various MCP connections to my agents.

  10. For OpenWebUI and also OMP with local models. Searxng is, uh, playing fast and loose[1]. More engines are implementing anubis or other challenges, which searxng attempts to implement/bypass, but they are also making these services inactive by default to limit load[2]. Once this cat-and-mouse game goes on a bit longer I expect the quality of free searxng results to crater. My advice to anyone who has any budget at all is to skip over this whole issue and spend a few bucks on a proper search API. [1] searx#1237 [2] searxng#6696
