Not everyone who works with geospatial data wants to work in a terminal. Now terrio has a UI for them.
Run one command and a page opens in your browser, with a form for every terrio command:
terrio ui

Source: opengeos/terrio. Early development: reading, writing and converting work; processing is in progress. Not a GDAL replacement; GDAL is an optional backend. Install via pip or cargo per the README. What GIS format would you test first?
Maps Meet Rust: Geospatial I/O Without C
terrio (MIT, by Qiusheng Wu / opengeos) aims to read, write, convert and reproject common geospatial formats (rasters, vectors, point clouds) in pure Rust with no C dependencies by default, so it builds anywhere Rust does, including WebAssembly. Its README says conversions to and from WGS 84 agree with GDAL's within a centimetre across thousands of EPSG coordinate systems (their own test). It has a CLI, Python and JS packages, and an MCP server for AI agents. GDAL remains available as an optional backend. Early development; processing operations are still in progress.
Repo: opengeos/terrio
Voiceover is AI-generated.

做 GIS 工具常被 GDAL 和 PROJ 的 C 依赖卡住,想编译到 WebAssembly 更麻烦;terrio 用 Rust 重写常用读写、转换和重投影路径,尽量把这类流程从 C 库上挪开。

Introducing terrio: geospatial data I/O in pure Rust!
terrio reads, writes, converts and reprojects geospatial rasters, vector data and point clouds, with no C dependencies. No GDAL or PROJ to install.
