made a free mac tool that shows what copilot cli and other agents actually do on your machine
i wanted to see what coding agents do on my mac beyond what the chat shows, so i built this
it works with copilot cli plus claude code, codex and gemini. it follows the agent and everything it starts, shows every command and every file it read or changed, and flags stuff like reading your .env, ssh keys or keychain. menu bar app plus a cli
free and open source, mac only for now

open source menu bar app that records what ai coding agents do on your mac
made this to see what claude code and codex actually do on my machine
the menu bar popover and the session windows are swiftui. the recording itself is a small go cli the app launches, it reads apple's eslogger and streams json events back to the app, which turns them into the live view, notifications and a timeline per run
source (MIT): omlahore/bodycam
happy to answer anything about the swiftui side

i made a free mac app that shows what ai coding agents do on your machine
i kept wondering what claude code and codex were doing on my mac outside the chat so i made this
it goes red in the menu bar while an agent runs, pings you when one touches your .env, ssh keys or keychain, and gives you a report of every command and file after each run
free and open source

shipped a free mac app this week that records what ai coding agents do, few things i learned
i shipped bodycam this week, it records what claude code, codex and the rest do on your mac
few things i learned building it
apple already ships an endpoint security logger (eslogger), so i didnt need a system extension at all, just had to follow the agent and everything it starts and throw away the rest
the hard part was noise. one claude code run fixing a single test read 200+ files, so most of the work was deciding what's actually worth flagging (.env, ssh keys, keychain, shell config) and what's normal
its free and open source: omlahore/bodycam
would love feedback on what else it should flag

made a free mac app that records what ai coding agents do on your machine
this started because i wanted to see what claude code was actually doing while i waited for it, ended up being a cli and a menu bar app
it uses apple's own endpoint security logger so theres nothing extra to install, follows the agent and everything it starts and flags stuff like reading your .env or ssh keys
built it in go and swift, its open source
omlahore/bodycam
still early so any feedback helps
