I've made two apps for you
Here are two lightweight open-source projects I've been working on
- Satellite: Dimitrysaf/satellite
- Xclipy: Dimitrysaf/xclipy
Satellite is a client built from scratch that uses the KDE connect protocol to communicate with connected devices. Featurewise, it aims for parity with KDE connect, but with a focus on desktop integration for GTK3 environments. If you’re like me and have a compulsion for keeping your desktop’s look and feel completely consistent with your GTK theme, where options like other solutions just don't hit the mark, then this app is for you LUL.
Xclipy is a simple clipboard manager and history tool that pops up right at your pointer and adds an entry to System Settings for configuration. I see Cinnamon and Linux Mint users constantly asking for a good out-of-the-box clipboard manager, and other solutions often fall short on ease of use or visual simplicity. Xclipy aims to fill that gap. #1, #2.
Both apps are still premature. If anyone is interested, feel free to try them out and contribute with bug reports, prs, or feedback!
Giant note: Most of the logic is made with Claude. The UI is entirely made by me. Heavy logic like how to use foreign imports, and do a bit more research only.

Cryptomator icon on systray is missing (libayatama) oct 2026
Bug explained on Cinnamon's github: cinnamon#14033
Temporary patch while waiting for upstream fix:
1. find the lines that match the report
grep -n -B 2 -A 3 'iconName.includes("/")' /usr/share/cinnamon/applets/xapp-status@cinnamon.org/applet.js
218-
219- // Assume symbolic icons would always be square/suitable for an StIcon.
220: if (iconName.includes("/") && type != St.IconType.SYMBOLIC) {
221- this.icon_loader_handle = St.TextureCache.get_default().load_image_from_file_async(
222- iconName,
223- /* If top/bottom panel, allow the image to expand horizontally,
2. found it, so we apply patch
sudo python3 -c 'from pathlib import Path; p=Path("/usr/share/cinnamon/applets/xapp-status@cinnamon.org/applet.js"); s=p.read_text(); old="if (iconName.includes(\"/\") && type != St.IconType.SYMBOLIC) {"; new="if (iconName.includes(\"/\")) {"; assert s.count(old)==1, f"Expected exactly one matching line, found {s.count(old)}. No changes made."; p.with_suffix(p.suffix+".bak").write_text(s); p.write_text(s.replace(old,new,1)); print("Patch applied. Original backed up to:", str(p)+".bak")'
[sudo: authenticate] Password:
Patch applied. Original backed up to: /usr/share/cinnamon/applets/xapp-status@cinnamon.org/applet.js.bak
3. confirm the fix:
grep -n -B 2 -A 3 'iconName.includes("/")' /usr/share/cinnamon/applets/xapp-status@cinnamon.org/applet.js
218-
219- // Assume symbolic icons would always be square/suitable for an StIcon.
220: if (iconName.includes("/")) {
221- this.icon_loader_handle = St.TextureCache.get_default().load_image_from_file_async(
222- iconName,
223- /* If top/bottom panel, allow the image to expand horizontally,
4. restart cinnamon > alt + f2 > R

PSA for Cinnamon users: If you have more than two monitors, you cannot mirror your display.
Title. I ran into the issue myself, and am posting this after finding dozens of posts with people who were having the same issue that went unanswered or unsolved. There are some answered ones if you scroll back far enough, but I'm hoping recency + title catches newer eyes searching an old problem.
From Cinnamon 21 on, there is not an option to mirror displays if you have more than exactly 2 monitors. For artists, this includes your drawing tablet - it will be displayed as a monitor on its own. For couch potatoes, this includes your TV - same as tablets above. You will have no options to mirror any monitor the moment you plug in anything that counts as a 3rd (or 4th, 5th, etc) monitor.
This is not a bug, it is a design feature in Cinnamon.
There is a feature request here on the official github: [FEATURE REQUEST] Display Settings - Mirror Displays #11056. Please go and leave a comment if this bothers you as much as it bothered me. Don't get your hopes up.
For a deeper explanation and the only clunky workaround that I've found actually works (that unfortunately, will not work in all use cases), I give tons of props to u/mobulai for their post here on the subreddit from 4 years ago.
Hopefully this helps someone out there screaming in frustration.
