PLAYDEN now IDIOT PROOF.. preview.redd.it I posted a week ago how Playden is frustratingly hard to get to work, Now the new 0.7.0 version is idiot proof, you just copy the 'FAKE' folder to your 'homebrew' folder, and once its run, it downloads and installs everything else you need .. Direct3D 12 support on Playden (Steam games on the PS5) I posted last week about my project for running Steam games natively on the PS5 using wine (prospero-win) and got a really good reaction from the community, so I kept working on it and made a _lot_ of improvements since that post: - Improved download speeds (it pretty much maxes out my ISP connection) - Fixes for tons of games (video playback, memory allocations, PhysX). The compatibility list keeps growing! - Login using username/password (tbh I don't know why since QR codes are more convenient, but it was requested) - Storage management (choose where to install games by default and batch uninstall) - Auto-update from inside Playden (so you never miss an update) But the main thing on this last release, is that I was able to get Direct3D 12 working through vkd3d-proton, which opens the door to lots of newer games running (Cyberpunk 2077 already plays well). Still planned on the pipeline next: - Rockstar launcher support (I already got GTA4 working, still fixing RDR2 and GTA5) - 120hz support - Connecting to other stores (GOG and Epic) - Manually copying your games from your PC to the PS5 - Listing the app on ProsperoStore Feel free to drop anything problems you find on Github issues, those reports have been super helpful: leolobato/playden-ps5 Have fun!

Play Steam games on PS5 without Linux!! A developer known as leolobato has introduced PlayDen, an experimental Steam client for jailbroken PS5 consoles that uses prospero-win, a Wine port for the PS5, to download and install Steam games directly onto the console’s home screen. What’s even more interesting is that the project reportedly supports Steam Cloud saves and allows users to configure various Wine settings directly through its interface. According to the developer, several games from his Steam library have already been tested, with surprisingly promising results. However, there are still some limitations. Games requiring third-party launchers such as EA, Rockstar, and Ubisoft aren’t supported yet. The developer also plans to explore support for GOG and Epic Games in future updates. The project is still experimental, so don’t expect every Steam game to work perfectly. Nevertheless, this is another exciting development for the PS5 homebrew community.
