Cocoon 3.1 - Game Switching Demo (OUT NOW)
Hey guys! Cocoon dev here. Just wanted to showcase the new Enhanced Device Access feature in Cocoon 3.1 which released 2 hours ago.
On supported devices (AYN, Retroid (newer devices, confirmed working on Nova, RP6 and Duo Lite), AYANEO (some devices, unsure of specifics but Pocket AIR works, Pocket Micro didn't)), Cocoon will "suspend" a game when returning to Cocoon which seamlessly closes the current game state into Cocoon's UI. From here, you can press A to resume (or press Home anywhere in Cocoon to resume the most recent one), or X to kill. Killing the game completely kills it from the Task switcher and more. You can also press Y on a running game to bring up the context menu, and swap which screen its on.
We believe this is a huge friction point with emulation on Android, and we're super happy to get this out there. It also includes many more goodies like optimisation for the Duo Lite & RG DS, in-app updating, customisable dock icons and more.
You can see the trailer here: youtube.com
Read more about it here: cocoon-shell.com
And download it here: github.com/inssekt/CocoonFE/releases/tag/beta-3.1
Thank you all for your continued support and appreciation of Cocoon and we're excited to bring more things like Docket (our spin on XMB), presets and Amber (RomM Support) in the near future ! :)
