Is this viral GitHub project really a free Razorpay alternative? In this video, I test the open-source payment gateway blowing up on Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts to see if Indian developers, startups, and indie hackers can actually use it to bypass Razorpay KYC rejections and 2% transaction fees.
Getting a payment gateway approved in India—whether it's Razorpay, Cashfree, PayU, or PhonePe—has become a massive headache for solo developers and SaaS founders. Recently, an open-source GitHub payment gateway went viral claiming to offer 0% commission UPI payments and instant setup. I cloned the repository, set up the backend, and ran real payment tests to check its speed, webhook reliability, security, and whether it is actually safe for production.

PROJECT STATUS AUR LIMITATIONS
Yeh experimental research/learning project hai. Is video mein ise certified, bank/NPCI-approved, audited ya production-ready payment service ke roop mein present nahi kiya gaya. Critical payments ke liye is par nirbhar na karein.
SMS/Gmail alerts galat, delayed, duplicate ya spoofed ho sakte hain. Payment confirmation ke liye official bank records se independent reconciliation zaroori hai. Permissions, refresh tokens, logs aur customer data sensitive hain.
19 October 2026 ko dekhe gaye docs mein Node.js 20+ aur Windows/Linux ka zikr tha; runtime compatibility install karke test nahi ki gayi. Zero gateway-fee model ka matlab zero total cost nahi: hosting, network, maintenance, support aur bank/third-party terms alag hain. Project ka 20/day testing guideline universal NPCI limit nahi hai. Current requirements aur terms official docs se check karein.
LICENSE AUR SOURCE CREDIT
Research ke waqt operative license unclear tha: README ka LICENSE link unavailable tha aur package metadata mein Commercial likha tha. Reuse/distribution se pehle maintainer se actual terms lein. README original creator Gaurav (gxurav1710) aur maintainer Zenuxs ko credit karta hai. README ka limited experimental-warning excerpt criticism/education ke liye dikhaya gaya hai; copyright respective authors ka hai. Yeh video reuse permission ya legal determination nahi deta.
