One ffmpeg script for web video: AV1/HEVC/H.264 sources or VP9/HEVC with alpha, a poster frame, and the <video> tag One script around ffmpeg for putting a clip on a website so it plays in every browser at the smallest size each one can take (with descent quality). Feed it a video, it writes x264, x265 and SVT-AV1 mp4s and a poster frame, and prints a <video> tag with the sources smallest first and the codecs strings filled in. Inputs with transparency get VP9 + HEVC with alpha instead (the HEVC one is done by avconvert on a Mac, ffmpeg can't write it). Defaults: x264 crf 26, x265 crf 28, both veryslow. svt-av1 qp 45 preset 1 with opus. vp9 crf 30 for the alpha case. -map_metadata -1 and faststart on everything.
