Bliss for Obsidian: A Y2K, Windows‑XP inspired desktop look with glossy blues, warm beige background and tidy intranet-style layouts.

Hey r/ObsidianMD 👋
Long time user, first time developer. Ever since I saw this Tweet by Fernando Borretti on X, boringpunk-notes-app, I couldn't stop thinking about this simple, nostalgic yet functional aesthetic of the early Y2K / 2000's server design language. So, I decided to burn some tokens and build a Obsidian theme that encompasses the aesthetics and yet keeps it minimal and modern.
For those who grew up with CRT monitors, early versions of Windows and the early world-wide-web intranet era, this will take you back.
Bliss is a desktop theme for Obsidian that draws inspiration from the early web and classic Windows aesthetics. Glossy blues, soft greens, and a warm beige desktop create a familiar sense of nostalgia, while layouts echo the tidy structure of intranet portals and personal websites from the Y2K era. A slate dark mode is included for after-hours work. Bliss brings together retro charm and modern usability in a contemporary take on early 2000s design.
