We Tested This Week's Trending AI Repo. Here's the Bill Show it a video you love, and it makes a new one in the same style. We put that to the test. What it is: reelmimic is an open-source tool where an AI crew (Claude Code or Codex) studies a reference video, plans a remake shot by shot, then builds it. Repo: edenfunf/reelmimic (MIT) What we tested: • Our AI fight clip: it read it frame by frame and wrote a real 6-shot plan, but spent $4.65 just planning 15 seconds, with no frames made. • Our trailer opening: 5 seconds in our look, for $6.77 (20 minutes, Claude Sonnet). • Its free video analyser read our anime THE SEVERING in 33 seconds with no AI at all. Verdict: WATCH. It works, but at about $1.35 a second it's too pricey to use every day. The free analyser is the part to grab. #AI #OpenSource #AIvideo #GitHub #Shorts
