univer

What does it do?

Univer is an open-source software development kit (SDK) for building spreadsheet, document, and presentation features inside another product. [1] It provides a plugin system and a Facade API, which is a higher-level programming interface for working with workbooks, ranges, formulas, commands, and events. [2a][2b] For example, developers can embed spreadsheet or document editing into a software-as-a-service (SaaS) product, internal tool, business-intelligence workflow, or AI application. [3]

  1. anyway here's the prompt that caused all this 💀 Build a playful “Haunted Document” using Univer SDK. Read the official docs first: docs.univer.ai code: dream-num/univer Use Vite + TypeScript to integrate a real Univer Docs editor. Keep the white background, toolbar, and normal editing features, then add these custom interactions: When selecting text, a spider immediately spins webs along the selection. When cutting text, a ghost packs the letters into a suitcase and carries them away. When pasting, it opens the suitcase and lets the letters fly into their new positions. When making text bold, a little monster lifts the selected letters, then puts them back down. Pumpkins, witches, and other characters emerge from the text. Clicking them turns them back into the original letters. Randomly introduce more classic Halloween characters—bats, black cats, skeletons, mummies, and vampires. Invent playful interactions with text and editing actions, giving each character its own movements and reactions. Create the characters with SVG/Canvas animations anchored to actual text positions, keeping them aligned during scrolling and zooming. Preserve document content, formatting, undo, and normal editing. Build and test a working webpage, and provide the commands to run it locally.

  2. Your AI agent editing a spreadsheet usually means praying it didn't nuke row 400. @univerHQ reframes this: agents edit in a draft, you review the diff and merge. Git-style approvals + rollbacks for sheets/docs/slides. Apache-2.0, ~22k stars. dream-num/univer t.co
