Managing a local DeepSeek Harness (dsh) server from the macOS menu bar If you run DeepSeek Harness locally on a Mac, the loop is familiar: check whether the server is up, restart it after an update, open the web UI, tail the log. I got tired of keeping a terminal tab around for that, so I wrote a menu bar app for it. What it does - Status at a glance: running or not, PID, uptime, installed DSH version. - Start / stop / restart the local service, with a configurable port. - Open DSH Web from the menu or a global shortcut (Shift + Command + D). - Live log viewer with search and log rotation. - Crash notification and bounded auto-restart for services started by the app; launch at login; English and Simplified Chinese UI. Use case it is built for: a single Mac running dsh for local coding work, where the service should survive reboots and updates without a terminal session babysitting it. Scope and limits: it drives the official DSH CLI rather than reimplementing anything, so dsh must be installed and on PATH. It is a personal hobby project, MIT licensed, macOS 13+, universal build. Known rough edges: the release is not notarized yet, so first launch needs the usual Gatekeeper step described in the release notes. Source, release and setup notes: donald-trump86/dsh-bar-macos Affiliation: I am the author. Happy to take bug reports, and PRs if anything in the SwiftUI code is obviously wrong.

DSH Bar – a macOS menu bar app for starting, stopping and watching your local DeepSeek Harness server I built a small macOS menu bar app for running DeepSeek Harness (dsh) locally. It is free and open source (MIT), and this is my first Mac app, so feedback is very welcome. What it does: - Shows whether the local dsh service is running, plus PID, uptime and installed DSH version. - Start, stop and restart the service from the menu, with a configurable port. - Opens DSH Web from the menu or with a global shortcut (default Shift + Command + D). Starting the service does not hijack a browser window. - Shows and searches live logs, and rotates them so they don't fill the disk. - Crash notifications with bounded automatic recovery for services it started, launch at login, English / Simplified Chinese UI, and Sparkle updates. It is a thin layer over the official DSH CLI: install dsh first, then download the app from Releases, move it to Applications and open it. macOS 13+, Apple silicon and Intel. There are still bugs. Bug reports and PRs are welcome; I would rather hear what breaks than have people silently give up on it. Source and downloads: donald-trump86/dsh-bar-macos
