@oops4041555 I have my gripes with GPUI as well but it does enable a better user experience. my gripes mostly involve inefficiency, bad battery life on laptops and mobile. I'm working on Sidestep to solve this on Linux: bitemyapp/sidestep
@max_paperclips @gnshnor is experimenting with my bitemyapp/sidestep work and @LukasHozda's Autolith to make a Lisp+Agent Machine that can dynamically construct/modify native GUIs at runtime AIUI.
abs. thrilled this is the kind of innovation I wanted to enable with bitemyapp/sidestep
@mgostIH @plumj_am it's a bit more complicated than that look at bitemyapp/sidestep if you want to see my AppKit for Linux mad science experiment I default to GTK for apps like genkan and yukimi in the NixOS distro spin
GTK because gtk4's rust ergonomics suit me fine and because bitemyapp/sidestep isn't mature enough yet.
