[PS5SX2] You can now insert a PS2 disc into your PS5 and play directly from it. No dumping required! 20+ years later, we're bringing back the feeling of putting a disc into your console and just playing. PS5SX2 2.10 now supports playing original PS2 discs directly from the PS5's disc drive. No dumping. No copying games to your storage. No waiting. Just insert your PS2 disc, and the game appears on your PS5SX2 shelf almost instantly, ready to play. I've also added integration with the XMB. A tile is automatically created for the inserted game, letting you launch it directly from the XMB. The game's cover art is loaded automatically as well, and the unsupported disc tile is hijacked to provide this experience. We've spent countless hours working on making this experience feel as close to native console support as possible. PS5SX2 2.10 Released — No More Dumping First? Direct PS2 Disc Launching! PS5SX2 now lets you launch physical PS2 DVDs directly from the PS5 home screen, without opening the emulator first! Gameplay Showcase 💿 What's New - Home screen game tiles — Insert a PS2 DVD to display its game name and cover. - Play directly from disc — Launch and play straight from the DVD, just like a real PS2. - Copy to storage — Alternatively Dump the disc first for faster loading and play without keeping it inserted. - Smart launching — If the game is already copied, the tile launches the stored version. - Reload PS2 Disc — Refresh disc detection if a tile fails to appear or launch. ⚠️ Important Notes - Requires ShadowMount+ and the updated PS5SXHelper.elf helper. - Load ShadowMount+ first, then the helper, after every restart. - You need your own PS2 BIOS in /data/PCSX2/bios. - The PS5 drive reads PS2 DVDs, not PS2 CDs. - Remove the disc before shutting down; leaving it inserted may cause a kernel panic. - This feature is new and has limited testing so far. PS5SX2 2.01 Released — USB Guitar Support, Disc Auto-Launch & More Another PS5SX2 update is out! Version 2.01 adds USB guitar and controller support, DualSense microphone support, and improvements to the experimental disc auto-play feature. What's New - USB guitar and controller support — Play Guitar Hero and Rock Band with compatible USB guitars, plus support for generic HID gamepads, XInput guitars, PS3 pads, and DualShock 3. - DualSense microphone support — Use the built-in mic in compatible games like Lifeline, Operator's Side, and SingStar titles. - Disc auto-play (beta) — Insert a PS2 disc and PS5SX2 will dump it if needed, then launch the game automatically. Eject the disc to return to the game shelf. It works whether PS5SX2 is open or closed. - Touchpad button remapping — Customize the button combinations for left and right touchpad clicks. - Custom webpage shortcut — Choose the button combination that opens the companion web page. Important: New All-in-One Payload ps5sx2-aio.elf combines the helper, installer, and disc auto-launcher into a single payload. It replaces the previous PS5SXHelper, PS5SX2Installer, and DiscLaunch ELFs, so it's the only payload you need now.
