What does it do?
FractalCore is a central server and control plane that coordinates decentralized edge nodes and manages distributed machine-learning tasks. [1] It schedules tasks for separate tenants, tracks compute budgets, and combines client model updates using FedAvg, a federated averaging method. [2a][2b] It also prepares foundation models for mobile nodes by slicing them into layer partitions and quantizing weights to INT4, producing memory-safe .pte files. [3]
