Nest Thermostat as a Home Assistant Notification Had an old Nest thermostat sitting around, so I used a Raspberry Pi to flash it and turn it into a little Home Assistant display under our living room TV. It shuffles through family photos, shows big colored notification cards for two minutes, then goes back to the gallery. The screen turns off when we’re in bed or away, and guest mode adds a Wi-Fi QR code. Built on the NoLongerEvil and nest-gallery projects. Pretty fun getting some more use out of this thing!
