How to play Deadlock on MacOS (Guide) First of all, if any dev is reading this: please add Mac support already! CSGO and Dota have it, so why not Deadlock? I have 100+ hours in Deadlock already, all on my Mac Mini M4 with 16GB. My screen is 1080p at 120Hz, and I constantly get 100+ FPS, and 60+ during really big team fights. There are two ways of running it, both through CrossOver (I’m using 26.0). Method 1: The straightforward way 1. Get CrossOver. 2. Click “+ Install”. 3. Search for Steam. 4. Wait for the installation to complete. If Steam opens, close it (it’s better to click “Quit all applications” on the CrossOver bottle). 5. Change the Advanced Settings to: D3DMetal, DLSS Enabled, MSync Enabled. It should look like this: preview.redd.it 6. Open Steam, install the game, run it, then close it. Click the “Quit all applications” button again. 7. Head over to GameBanana and download Sqooky FPS Config (gamebanana.com). 8. Go back into CrossOver (make sure everything is closed) and click “Open C: Drive”. 9. Place the gameinfo.gi file at /Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Deadlock/game/citadel/gameinfo.gi. 10. Replace any existing file. Now start the game again and make sure you’re using DLSS and Fullscreen mode. Enable the advanced performance settings, and adjust the graphics settings up or down depending on the FPS you get. Method 2: The tech-savvy way This one can give you better and more stable FPS and lower RAM usage. We’ll replace D3DMetal with an unreleased version of DXMT. Technically speaking, D3DMetal is supposed to perform better since it is a simpler translation layer than DXMT, for me, it wasn't the case. Do the straightforward guide above first, then: 1. Head over to the CXPatcher repo (italomandara/CXPatcher), click on Releases, and download the version that matches your CrossOver version. If you’re using 26.X, download CXPatcher 0.7.1. 2. Go to the DXMT repo (3Shain/dxmt) and download the latest main branch build artifact. In my case it’s this one: github.com/3Shain/dxmt/actions/runs/38870321233 (NOTE: this is the exact commit that includes a fix needed to run Deadlock with DXMT and DLSS enabled). 3. Download the dxmt-(commit hash).zip file (commit hash is a really big string). 4. Open CXPatcher, go to Advanced Options, deselect “Use a separate bottles path”, and select “Install DXMT”. 5. A new window will open. Locate the extracted zip file you downloaded earlier, don’t change any other setting, press ESC, and close the Advanced Options window. 6. With CrossOver fully closed and already in your Applications folder, drag it onto the dotted area in CXPatcher. It will create a new version called Crossover_patched in your Applications folder. 7. Open the patched CrossOver and switch from D3DMetal to DXMT. It will look like this: preview.redd.it 8. Fiddle with the settings just like before, enable DLSS, and tune the graphics settings accordingly. And there you have it! Now just don’t go around feeding my games!
